Dear morning car rider families,
Thank you for your patience with the morning car line. I have great news regarding morning car line procedures. We have been working with district safety officials to receive unique approval in order to open an additional car line drop-off location after our last bus has arrived on campus.
This new procedure has multiple moving parts, which will require all of us to work together so that our students can all be in class by 7:40 AM. Please see the details below for what is changing and what is staying the same. We will start this procedure on Monday, August 31.
What is staying the same:
• The traffic pattern of how cars line up on Turkey Creek remains the same.
• Cars may not turn left into ANY school entrance or the car line during arrival.
• Parents are not permitted to park and walk students to the gates.
• All families with a “Staff Escort” hang tag will be required to drop off in front of the school (nothing is changing for you).
• All arrivals at Walden Lake will stay the same until the last bus is unloaded in our staff lot.
What is changing:
• When the last bus has unloaded, a staff member will direct cars to pull into the staff parking lot for our additional drop-off loop.
• Cars are not permitted to park in the staff lot at any time!
• Cars should pull all the way around and stop at the furthest cone possible.
• We will have a significant number of cones visible. Watch for the adults flagging you around.
• This additional drop-off is ONLY for students who are able to exit the vehicle unassisted. Please have shoes, book bags, etc., ready so students can exit immediately.
• As you line up to enter the additional drop-off, please do not block any exits, crosswalks, or gates.
• This adjustment will only be for arrival, and the additional drop-off will be based on the last bus drop-off each day.
We know it will take a few days to make this process go smoothly, and we will evaluate the process to determine if any changes need to be made. We anticipate this will successfully reduce the car line.
We will be taking drone photos this weekend to send a visual before Monday.
