Having your child help pick out the curriculum can add interest and incentive to work on a subject they might otherwise dread. I bought this on Amazon in hopes of helping the cursive process.

Many families have already begun their homeschool year. My family is already on week 3. I am happy to report that it has been a great start! The beginning of a new homeschool year brings a mix of excitement, anticipation, and occasional overwhelmed feelings.

You don't have to do this alone. We are here to help you even if only as a sound board.

Give yourself time to establish a routine. The first few weeks are about finding your rhythm, so give yourself and your kids plenty of grace. Flexible is homeschooling's middle name. Needing to adjust your plan isn't a failure. It is actually one of the best parts of homeschooling. Be kind to yourself, celebrate the small wins, and remember that we are always here to support you.

This coming school year will be my 19th year of homeschooling. One of the greatest things about homeschooling for so long is being able to shop for curriculum on my own book shelves. I am not a hoarder of books. I am investing in my children's education. 😇

Yesterday was a slow start, but a full day. We didn’t really get going until the afternoon, but that’s the joy of homeschooling…flexibility.

Today was a busy day, but learning happened. We spent the morning at the park making new friends, and the the afternoon at the library exploring the stacks. In between we read, practiced cursive, and worked on math.

Sometimes you interrupt your math lesson for a little bit of science. We found this toad in our front yard.

Edit - A few minutes later we saw a gecko on the window.
