To officially kick off summer, we are sharing a list of books featuring characters who are deaf or hard of hearing or touching on related topics. (Might help encourage some reading time this season!) 📖
We advise previewing books, as this list is compiled from several sources. The age groups are suggestive, and we recommend choosing books based on your child’s language(s), communication, and development level.
These represent various communication modes, philosophies, and perspectives, technologies, and are written by authors who are CODAs, hearing, deaf, Deaf, hard of hearing, interpreters, SLPs, Audiologists, and teachers.
Find a link to the list here:

We know we may have missed some, please leave a comment below if you think we should add one. 📚
Tip- Your local library may have a few of these books, or you can request the library add them.

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend, don't forget that we have a couple of students and staff members representing us in NTPA Deaf Theatre's rendition of The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon. (For parents, it's rated PG.)
Synopsis: The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like Snow White, Cinderella, and Hansel and Gretel to more bizarre, obscure stories like The Devil’s Grandmother. A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.
