We are excited to welcome Taylor Hervey to Pearson Early Childhood Schools as the Teacher Assistant in the Balloon Classroom. Taylor attended Pearson and she remembers all the great times and teachers she had. She recently graduated from Plano Senior High School and will be attending Collin College online to further her education while working at Pearson. While at school Taylor hangs out with friends, family and her boyfriend. She enjoys bowling, going to the gym, and jamming out to music while cooking/baking.

We are excited to welcome Karen Kipp to Pearson Early Childhood School as the Teacher Assistant in the Crayon Classroom. Before coming to work at Pearson, Karen worked fifteen years at the middle school she attended in Dallas ISD. Karen left teaching to raise her sons Eli (13) and Titus (11) who attend Haggard Middle School. Both boys are working towards a black belt in Taekwondo and are currently at Senior Blue belts. She has been a stay at home mom for 13 years, volunteering at Hughston as well as Pearson. This year Mrs. Kipp will celebrate 15 years with her husband Bill. She has two dogs, Atlas (husky) and Bella (chihuahua terrier mix). When not at work she loves to travel, go to concerts, and spend time with family and friends. Karen is looking forward to starting this new chapter in her life at Pearson.

We are excited to welcome Alejandro Gonzalez as a Teaching Assistant at Pearson Early Childhood School. Mr. Gonzalez is excited to meet the staff and students. He will be working with Pearson students to help them achieve their goals. Currently, he is a freshman at Collin College. Alex spends his time with family, friends, and his girlfriend. His dog, Chucho, and kitten, Banjo, movies, TV shows, reading, drawing and working out fill up his spare time. Mr. Gonzalez is a second degree black belt in Taekwondo and played rugby for over 10 years. Most importantly, he likes staying home to be with the pets and people that he loves.

We are excited to welcome Sarah Falci to Pearson as a teacher in the 3 year old Star Class. Sarah is looking forward to beginning her teaching career at Pearson and a wealth of experience from her previous roles as a long-term nanny, preschool teache, and reading specialist. She believes in working collaboratively with students and families to help each child reach their full potential. Building strong relationships and fostering a supportive learning environment are at the core of her teaching philosophy. Sarah currently lives in Frisco with her family and recently became an aunt to Jack! Outside of teaching she enjoys indulging in sushi, listening to live music and spending time with her dog, Winnie.

We are excited to welcome Kamryn Merritt to Pearson as a Teaching Assistant in our 3 year old program Moon class. Ms. Merritt has grown up in Plano and graduated from Plano Senior High School. She is the youngest of 7 kids and is pursuing a career in education. In her free time she loves being outdoors, swimming in hot and cold springs, going on hikes, road trips and more. She loves all things craft and music. When she has time, her favorite hobby is making fun designs on her nails. She has been working with young children for many years and is excited to start her first year at Pearson. Please help us warmly welcome her to our Pearson family!

Please help us welcome Laura Vettor to Pearson Early Childhood. Ms. Vettor will be our new school nurse and comes to us with 20 years of nursing experience. Her most recent experience includes working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Texas Health. She has been happily married to her husband, Rob, for 25 years. She has two twin boys, Jeremy and Nicholas, who will be seniors at the Plano ISD Academy High School. this coming year. In her spare time she loves to read and do Pilates. We are excited to have her joining our Pearson team!

We have been monitoring the weather forecast closely for the last few days. Unfortunately, the forecast calls for widespread rain and thunderstorms throughout the day tomorrow, Thursday, May 16th. We are disappointed to share that we have made the difficult decision to cancel our Pearson Celebration picnic scheduled for tomorrow. We wish you and your family an amazing few last days of school and a safe summer break.

Star Classes worked together to plant some herbs and flowers on our school playground! Students are learning about what plants need to grow, and how to enjoy a garden (looking at, smelling, and caring for) in a safe and gentle way so the plants can thrive!

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week, and summer is coming too!!

Please make note of our "We Did It! Week" dress up theme days as well for our last week of school! We will finish strong and celebrate a great school year this May!

Our students are super readers! For PreK students, reading isn't always about reading the words off the page, but more focused on developing the language skills to tell a story from the pictures. Students love listening to stories and sharing books with their peers!

Ice, ice, baby!!!

Rainbow class showcasing another example of hands-on exploration of different kinds of animals. These students used eyedroppers to add water droplets to icy glaciers housing various water animals, slowly melting the glaciers.

This activity also builds fine motor skills and exposes students to science concepts related to temperature and states of water!
