Creativity knows no bounds! Dot class students expressed their unique artistic visions while patterning with shapes, colors, and linework. You can tell just how proud these students are of their original creations!

Robotics came to life this week in library lessons!
Students read about robots then grew STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) skills practicing precoding with Blue Bot robots! Students were highly motivated and engaged in helping their Blue Bots follow courses on their maps, planning and programming turns and movements in various directions.
Coding skills support invaluable life skills, like critical thinking, communication, and problem solving. These young minds are hard at work!

Hello Pearson Peacock families! I'm so excited to share that we will be having our very own "I'm Present" training here at Pearson ECS on Wednesday, December 13th at 8:00 AM presented by the Plano ISD Parent Education and Engagement Program (PEEP) department. This district level department provides services designed to support students, families and campuses.
I know many of you work, but for those that are able, please drop off your students as usual on this day through the carpool line (or usual bus route), park in the front, and come in for the training. This will be a great opportunity to connect with other parents and learn some tips and tricks that might help make the transition from home to school a little easier and make for a great start to your child's day and yours too. We will have coffee and a warm smile waiting for you!
We hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving break! It was wonderful to welcome students back today.
Huge shoutout to Mathews Elementary PTA for donating delicious pies for our hard working teachers and staff to make this time of year extra sweet! You are appreciated!
Happy Thanksgiving from all of us to you!
Enjoy these thankful vibes from our Smiley Face class. Before the break, these students each decorated a feather for the classroom turkey. They worked together to select his name, settling on Mr. Gobble.
We look forward to seeing everyone back 11/27!
Morning arrival was filled with feathers and holiday cheer this morning! Our amazing assistant principal, Mrs. Murray, spread her wings as our vibrant peacock mascot, while one of our school secretaries, Mrs. Castillo, strutted in as a charming turkey, bringing a sprinkle of Thanksgiving joy to our carpool line!
With feathers flying and cocoa packets in hand, they celebrated families arriving on time for drop-off. It's moments like these that make our school community shine!
Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and for making our mornings a little brighter with your timely arrivals! Wishing you all a cozy and joyful Thanksgiving break! ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐

Hello Pearson Peacock family! We are excited to announce a few updates to our Attendance Intervention Program!
First, we want to recognize a few more friends with Perfect Peacock Attendance from the first 9 weeks! We have received some great feedback and want to let you know we have updated our guidelines for the Perfect Peacock and Rising Peacock recognitions to include students that arrive late with a doctor's note because they are still present for the majority of the day, as well as students that are off campus but are receiving district provided testing. We are also including students that are absent due to religious holy days. Thank you for partnering with us to make this an even better program! We just received our district attendance percentages, and we are up 1.61% from this time last year! Way to go!
I'm also excited to announce another part of our program. We know that it is really the parents that are responsible for their child's attendance at this young age, so we would like to recognize you too! We are going to spotlight families that have great strategies in place to make it on time to school. We will post them here and on Seesaw. Plus, we have a few surprises for parents coming up as a way to say thank you!
Lastly, we understand that many of our young learners are new to school and will be sick more often due to exposure to new germs. Student health and safety always comes first, so please continue to follow the health guidelines and keep your child home if they are sick. Just remember to send in a note to school within three school days. Again, the Attendance awards reset every 9 nine weeks, so there will be another opportunity to work towards this goal. Go Peacock Pride!!!
Do you know the muffin man?
We do, and there are two!! Shoutout to Steve and Matt from Sprouts Plano for their generous donation of fresh and delicious muffins for our staff today! Thank you for brightening the day, Sprouts Farmers Market !
A huge congratulations once again to Ms. Amy Deeble and Mrs. KellyAnn Frederick for their efforts in writing and receiving grants from the Plano ISD Education Foundation to support the enrichment and learning for our amazing students at Pearson Early Childhood School. We can't wait to share these grants in action later this year!
Many thanks to Park Place Lexus Plano , H-E-B , and CoServ for their generosity in helping make this program possible!

Huge congratulations to Ms. Deeble and Ms. Frederick on receiving grants today from the ISD Education Foundation through the Grants to Educators Program! Ms. Frederick's grant will enable the Frontiers of Flight Museum to visit Pearson with their portable planetarium sometime this spring, and Ms. Deeble's grant will provide new dramatic play resources for the Pearson SLP team to use in student sessions. We are Pearson Proud of both of you!

Reminder- no school tomorrow! See students back Wednesday, November 8th!
Hello Pearson Peacock Families! We are so excited to announce a new initiative to encourage improved student attendance.
We know how hard it is to get young children up and going and used to a new school routine, so we are wanting to recognize when students are able to make it to school and be on time. We have partnered with local businesses that have donated items for us to give to students who are receiving awards. We will begin by looking at attendance for the first nine weeks only, which was 8/9/2023-10/6/2023. The students that met the attendance criteria, had their picture taken and are posted below with their certificate.
In order to encourage everyone, we will look at each 9 weeks independently to give students that have been sick or had other circumstances come up, a chance to start over and win an award as well. Our ultimate goal is to set our students up for success for the day and through the rest of their educational journey.
Our top award is the Perfect Peacock Attendance Award for students that have zero excused or unexcused absences and zero tardies for the first nine weeks. They will receive a Kid Mania free play pass and a free kid's meal from Raising Cane's!!
Next, our students with zero excused or unexcused absences and five or less tardies for the first 9 weeks have been awarded the Rising Peacock Attendance Award. They will receive a free kid's meal from Raising Cane's!!
Finally, we have the Perfectly Punctual Attendance Award for students that have had zero tardies for the first 9 weeks. There are so many of these students that we could not post all of their pictures, but we will do a drawing for a freebie and send it home with 5-10 lucky students.
Congratulations to our Peacock Attendance Award winners for the first 9 weeks! The second 9 weeks ends 12/21, so we will be announcing our next round of winners after winter break.

We love opportunities to bring learning to life in meaningful ways for our students, and surely Patton was a beloved guest here on campus!
A heartfelt round of ap-paws to Patton and Children's Medical City Plano for making this experience possible for our students!

Unity Day at Pearson: Embracing Kindness and Inclusion Together!
The color orange has a significant meaning on Unity Day. It represents a bright and bold message that unites us: together, we can make a stand against bullying and show our commitment to kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. By wearing orange, we symbolize our dedication to creating a world where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued. Thank you to all who participated by wearing orange today. :)

Arrival Time Moments of Joy
Our preschoolers receive a heartwarming welcome as they make their way to class, setting the tone for an amazing day of learning. Students arriving before 7:55 are ready to thrive!
On-time arrivals are greeted with smiles and cheer from the moment they enter the front door until they reach their classroom. Walking down the halls with friends, sharing stories at lockers, and starting the day together- enjoy this inside look into how our students are welcomed during arrival time each day.

October is National Principals Month!!
We are SO fortunate to have an amazing principal, Mrs. Haugh, leading and guiding our campus!
Today for , the spotlight is on another side of Mrs. Haugh; outside of being a tireless advocate for the needs of students and families, Mrs. Haugh is a passionate athlete! She has combined her love of distance running with her heart for supporting Autism research. She will be running in the Chicago Marathon THIS Sunday in support of the Organization for Autism Research on behalf of many of the Pearson students we serve!
Please wish her a healthy, joyful 26.2 mile race this weekend!!
