All current and former Band Parents and Students!
This is post from John Brennan. Reply to him if you are able to help with this huge project!
Background: Our current trailer was found to have some damage that could not be repaired. The district has generously provided a much newer trailer! Now, we have to deconstruct our old trailer and use as much material as we can on the new trailer.
Right now we have two trucks here at Plano East and we need your help. We need to take apart the inside of our old truck...powered cordless screwdrivers/drills prefered with some sockets/wrenches for bolts. I am starting right now on it. Work can be done day and/or night! The goal is to have it pretty much cleared out by Friday at 1:00 pm. Which leads to the second half of this call for help. We will start construction of the new trailer at 1:00 pm on Friday. I believe we have a crew in place to do this, but if you have some time to help out throughout next week, we could probably use it.
Please respond to John Brennan and ask questions on this thread and we can all stay on the same page. Thanks so much
If you cannot help physically, any donation amount would help off set this unexpected expense for the band boosters. You can donate via the band website by clicking on the link below.

Hello Plano East Alums,
I received an email from a Plano East Band Alum, Class of 1998, who could really use some help from his band family and friends. I am currently looking into setting up a GoFundMe page for him because this could cause some problems with disability for him if he sets it up. If someone else does it, there does not seem to be a problem with it. Any amount will help. Pass the word to other Plano East alums - not just band members!
Thanks.
===============================================
Hi Mr. V, I hope you are doing well. As saw, I do have an infection and it's being stubborn, but luckily we caught it in the early stages. I'm not sure if you knew I lost my job on new years day because I cannot play piano anymore and conducting & teaching wasn't worth it to the church I was working for. I obviously also lost my job teaching alto, tenor and soprano sax due to being unable to play anymore.
I've since been turned down for every job I've applied for. I've filed for disability to get me by until I can find something, but it's a long process. So, my mom and I are trying to live off of her social security. My car was repossessed the end of March. I'm overdrawn and faced with numerous copays and prescriptions this next few weeks.
I was wondering if you could possibly help me out just to purchase food, gas and prescriptions through July 3. Anything would help. My mother and I are down to one meal left.
Anything would help and it's a desperate need. I'm not sure I have enough gas to make it home from my antibiotic infusion tomorrow and my mom is out of Xarelto, her blood thinner due to her mild stroke and AFIB.
I have PayPal and if you are willing and able, you can send any help that way to [email protected]
