Exploring the Nine Chain ✨
Nine times nine… bead by bead… becoming 81.
The child is discovering the square of nine through hands-on work.
They may not know it yet, but this simple chain is building a deep understanding of multiplication and patterns.
In Montessori, the hands lead the mind 💛

I recently learned that in Brazil, a proposal has been brought forward to ban glue traps for animals.
That alone is a step in the right direction.
This is not about liking pests.
It’s about how we choose to treat life.
Glue traps cause slow and painful suffering. The animal doesn’t die quickly, it struggles, sometimes for hours or even days.
As adults, we may not always think about this.
But children do.
Over the years, I’ve seen something beautiful…
Children gently reminding their parents,
“Mom, it’s part of nature… don’t hurt it.”
And sometimes, the parent pauses.
That is how change begins.
We may not be able to change the whole world,
but if a few of us choose a kinder way,
that is already something meaningful.

As a Montessori teacher, I’ve always believed that education is not about labels — it’s about seeing the child in front of you.
Dr. Maria Montessori began her work with children who were considered “unteachable.” She created materials that supported independence, focus, coordination, and dignity — especially for children with developmental differences. Only later did she introduce these methods more widely.
At the heart of Montessori is a simple belief: every child can grow when they are understood, respected, and included.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children on the spectrum and with different learning styles. What I’ve seen again and again is that when children are treated with patience, consistency, and genuine belief in their potential, they rise beautifully.
