Congratulations to our January Volunteer of the Month - Cindy Andrew!

Cindy, her husband, Dave, and 4th grader, Nicholas, are thrilled to be a part of the Barksdale community! Cindy has been the Chairperson for Reflections for the last two years and has made the program a success while being highly organized and a great communicator!

CIndy shared, “One of my goals when I started my own business in 2019 was to create a work/life balance that allowed me to give back through volunteering. My parents are both retired teachers, so Barksdale being one of my causes was a no brainer. It is a privilege to be able to support our public schools through the PTA.”

Plano ISD schools and facilities will remain closed on Friday, January 10, 2025, due to the forecast for continued inclement weather and the potential for unsafe travel conditions throughout the 100 square miles of the district.

Based on current weather forecasts, Plano ISD plans to resume classes on Monday, January 13. School will be in session unless otherwise announced.

Plano ISD schools and facilities will be closed on Thursday, January 9, 2025, due to the winter storm warning, extreme cold temperatures and expected hazardous conditions of roads, parking lots and walkways. This decision prioritizes the safety and well-being of our students and staff.

A decision regarding school operations for Friday, January 10, will be made after evaluating facility and travel conditions on Thursday evening. For updates, check the Plano ISD website at www.pisd.edu/weatherupdates.

We encourage our Plano ISD community to take the necessary precautions to stay safe and warm during this period of extreme cold. Please continue to monitor the school district communications channels for any updates or new information regarding the weather and school operations.
