The Collin College Visual Arts program offers foundation art classes in drawing, design and art appreciation as well as specialized classes in the fields of painting, watercolor, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, art metals, computer art and art history. In addition to the 33,000 square-foot Visual Arts Center at the Spring Creek Campus, Collin College also offers a wide range of classes at the Pr
eston Ridge and Central Park campuses. All labs include professional quality equipment such as two intaglio printing presses, a variety of ceramic kilns, electric pottery wheels, metal casting, smithing and fabrication equipment. Seminars in professional practices help prepare students to function as visual artists. Professors are highly trained, practicing artists who are dedicated to encouraging the individual student to reach his or her highest level of skill and creativity. Annually, the Visual Arts Department provides students with various opportunities to participate in art exhibits, panel discussions on selected art topics, visiting artists' demonstrations, and portfolio reviews by representatives of area universities. The Spring Creek Campus also houses gallery and exhibition space.
