Special appreciation and congratulations to our Link Sister, Lisa Ross, President & CEO of the African American Museum, for hosting an extraordinary preview of "Mandela: The Official Exhibition" and honoring The Honorable Helen Giddings, Honorary South African Consul, alongside the North Texas Cluster of The Links, Incorporated. The evening celebrated a legacy of visionary leadership, service, and impact, while paying tribute to the life and enduring influence of Nelson Mandela, whose commitment to justice, equality, and human dignity continues to inspire generations around the world.

The members of the Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated were honored to participate in this special occasion and celebrate two remarkable leaders whose contributions continue to strengthen our communities. It was truly a memorable evening filled with friendship, reflection, and celebration. 💚

We were honored to attend THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson, an incredible fundraising event benefiting Momentous Institute, a nationally recognized organization dedicated to strengthening children, families, and communities through mental health services, education, and training.

Special thanks to Lexie Okeke, Director of Community Engagement, Salesmanship Club of Dallas, for sharing the various ways our chapter can volunteer and support this impactful annual fundraising event.

During the luncheon, our new members shared their special friendship journey and a beautiful champagne toast from the 2025 Induction Class members was amazing! May is Mental Health Awareness Month!!! Today at our May chapter meeting, we chose to “Be Seen In Green.” Plano North Metroplex (TX) demonstrates unity in support of mental health awareness. Wearing green symbolizes solidarity, helps break the stigma and promotes mental health awareness. Congratulations to our members for achieving Spotlight on Linkdom Award, Platinum Status, Alumna Status and 25 years in Linkdom.

Celebrating Excellence, Purpose, and Possibility. The Plano North Metroplex (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated proudly hosted our Scholarship & End-of-Year Reception for our mentoring program, SWAG – Securing Wisdom and Grace. We gathered to honor seven scholarship recipients, two SWAG graduating seniors, and our three Heir-O-Links, celebrating their exceptional academic achievements and promising futures.
Since 2008, our commitment to investing in youth has remained resolute—awarding scholarships to over 123 students totaling more than $350,000. This special program was not only about recognition but also reflection. Our graduating SWAG mentees inspired us all through their capstone presentations, showcasing growth, confidence, and the ability to step boldly into their purpose. The future is bright—and we are honored to be a part of their journey.
