Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai Plano Dojo

Great weekend at the Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai Gasshuku!

First, after a week of intense and grueling testing two of our students earned the rank of Shodan (1st degree Blackbelt). Congratulations Mr. Yalamanchi and Mr. SriRam!

Second, we had three of our Shodans promoted to Nidan (2nd degree Blackbelt). Congratulations Mr. Rathi, Mr. Linskey, and Mr. Raghavan!

We had an outstanding weekend of training with our fellow karateka from Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai sun-up to sun-down at the 2024 Gasshuku.
We learned a lot, practiced hard, and had an amazing time during and post training each day.

We also had several students earn rank including Ms. Mozumdar who earned the rank of Shodan (1st degree blackbelt) after 7 days of grueling testing.

Congratulations to everyone who made rank, and to all of you who made it a priority to attend the Gasshuku and give your 200%!!

Yesterday we were excited to participate in the Texas Isshinryu Karate Kai 2023 Shiai.

Led by our founder Soke Robert Kristensen, TIKK Shiais bring together the students and instructors from all of our dojo’s for training, testing, promotions, and recognition.

At this year’s event we were excited to see three TIKK students earn the rank of Shodan (1st degree Blackbelt), including one of our Plano students; Mr. Kannan who earned this rank while testing with two other students from the Frisco and Flower Mound Dojo’s.

Additionally, we had several other students earn rank and recognition at this event.

We were also excited to see on of the Grapevine Dojo’s Blackbelts Ms. Ashley Egert earn the rank of Nidan (2nd degree Blackbelt), and Sensei Dan Bamper earn the rank of Yondan (4th degree Blackbelt)!

Special congratulations go out to father and son duo Eric Gonzalez and Ethan Gonzalez who both successfully tested for Shodan (1st degree Blackbelt). And to Nidan Mark Schneider who earned the rank of SanDan (3rd degree Blackbelt) and was awarded the the title of Sensei!
