Thanks so much to everyone who braved the rain in order to join us for Donuts with a Grownup. It was a huge success! Your support this week has been tremendous, and we are so grateful. The book fair will still be open during recess and lunch times today and tomorrow AND after school today from 3:00-4:00. We'll close tomorrow at 1:00, but you can still shop the online fair at literati.com/store all year long to benefit our school!

We're thrilled to announce the results of our recent school fundraiser! It was an incredible success, and we're so grateful for everyone's participation.

And the winner is... Kindergarten! With a fantastic total of $4,410, Kindergarten will be receiving a well-deserved popsicle party. Congratulations to all the Kindergarten students and families!

Here's a breakdown of how each grade did:

* 3rd Grade: $3,840
* 1st Grade: $3,270
* 2nd Grade: $3,005
* 4th Grade: $2,665
* 5th Grade: $1,800

Together, we raised a grand total of $18,990! Thank you again to all of our families, friends and community for your amazing support. Your generosity will directly benefit our students and school programs. We truly appreciate your commitment; it makes a difference in our school community!

A special shout-out goes to everyone who participated in our Color Run last week! It was a wonderful event filled with fun and laughter. We sincerely appreciate the Credit Union of Texas for their generous support and delicious food, as well as our incredible volunteers who made the event possible.

Our super exciting annual Talent Show nights are coming up! Tickets Must be Purchased in Advance!

Talent show and concession stand tickets are on sale now! In an effort by the district to simplify our payment process for staff and auditing purposes, we are making this event cashless. To order your tickets for entry into the show as well as to purchase concession tickets, please scan the QR code, or enter the web address listed below that will take you to the Student Quick Pay site to order yours today! Get ready to celebrate! Our Color Run fundraiser has been an absolute BLAST, and we're SO CLOSE to reaching our $20,000 goal! We've already raised an incredible $18,215 – just a little more to go, and we get to tape Mr. Casado to the wall! How awesome is that?! The competition is heating up! Kindergarten held the top spot all weekend with a phenomenal $4,300 raised, but First Grade is coming in strong with $3,065, inching ever closer to second place! Third Grade is also doing great with $3,670, followed by Second Grade with $2,780, Fourth Grade with $2,600 and Fifth Grade with $1,800. Today is the ABSOLUTE LAST DAY to donate! Let's push hard and make it over the finish line! Please share your students donation links with friends, family, and co-workers. Let’s make this happen!

The PTA-sponsored Literati Spring Book Fair will take place in the Hedgcoxe Library THIS week, March 31st through April 4th. Your students can make purchases during daily during their recess and lunch times, and we'll be open after school Monday through Thursday until 4:00 p.m. You are also invited to join us for our popular DONUTS WITH A GROWNUP event on Thursday morning, April 3rd, beginning at 7:00 a.m. (An RSVP link for that event will be emailed to all parents on Monday.) The Literati Book Fair will close at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, but you can shop our online fair all year long! March is Youth Art Month and PISD celebrates young artists with a gallery show at the Robinson Fine Arts Center! Our students Kyla Rich (1st) and Ari Grajeda (4th) were our selected students this year!

The time has come, Kindergarten Kickoff! We cannot wait to meet all of our future Hounds!

Hedgcoxe Elementary PTA Senior Scholarship 2025

In an effort to support the continuing education of Hedgcoxe Elementary graduates, the PTA will provide a scholarship in the amount of $500 to a graduating PISD High School senior who attended Hedgcoxe Elementary for at least TWO YEARS including fifth grade. Applicant must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to attend a university, junior college or trade school in the following year.

Applicants must complete a 500 to 1500 word essay titled “How my years at Hedgcoxe impacted me,” a personal history (extracurricular activities, awards, etc.) and two recommendation letters from non-family members.

Applications will be accepted through May 2, 2025 at 5:00 p.m.

We are absolutely buzzing! What an AMAZING fun run we had! The energy was incredible, and it was a perfect celebration of our fundraising efforts so far. Speaking of which, we're SO CLOSE to our goal – and to the ultimate prize: taping Mr. Casado to the wall! As of today, we've raised a phenomenal $17,120! Donations are pouring in from all over the globe – from Spain to the Dominican Republic and even the Philippines; not to mention 27 states! It's truly inspiring to see such widespread support for our school.

Kindergarten continues in the lead but 3rd grade has not let that lead get too far! Remember, Monday, March 31st is our LAST DAY to reach our target. Let's give it one final push! The PTA had all the tape ready for Mr Casado!
