Cabinet, Board of Trustees, and the Wolfpack family gathered for a special ceremony filled with student artwork, amazing performances, and food! The event also honored staff members who've been part of Plano West and feeder schools since 1999, whether as alumni or dedicated employees. Thank you to Scottish Rite for Children for stopping by Plano Senior High School to interview Student Rayne Urech. Rayne will serve as an honorary captain for the University of Missouri at the Cotton Bowl on Friday, December 29, as they face Ohio State.

Rayne is a student coach on the Wildcat football team and aspires to become a college football coach. Her story will be shown at the game, and she'll be with the Tiger football team when they visit Scottish Rite patients next week. She will also attend a practice and sit near the field with her family during the game.

Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams, who serves as a Hendrick Scholarship Foundation Coach, and Board President Nancy Humphrey were among many Plano ISD team members attending today's Hendrick Scholarship Foundation Holiday Luncheon. State Board of Education Representative Pam Little was also in attendance. Guests were treated to a performance by the Plano Senior High School String Quartet.

The Foundation provides Plano ISD graduates who have overcome adversity with scholarships and support services to promote success in life through education.

Special thanks to State Farm for launching the Women in Tech after-school coding program at Otto Middle School this semester! The weekly series allowed girls to be mentored as they learned to code, culminating with their first State Farm Showcase last week. Students worked in teams to code solutions and presented them to parents in attendance! πŸ‘©β€πŸ’»

Plano ISD is a Texas public school system steeped in history and a tradition of excellence spanning more than 100 years. With a mission to β€œprovide an excellent education for each student,” Plano ISD serves the residents of approximately 100 square miles in southwest Collin County. This area includes most of the City of Plano, as well as portions of the cities of Richardson, Dallas, Murphy, Allen, Parker, Garland, Lucas, Carrollton and Wylie.

Plano ISD employs nearly 7,000 faculty and staff members who serve 54,000 students in 72 schools and 17 additional instructional and service facilities.
