Our 6th Grade English team is hard at work in their Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), collaborating on the most effective strategies to help students analyze an author’s use of figurative language in poetry.
By sharing insights and refining their professional inquiry, these educators are growing our students. Because of their collaborative efforts and dedication to our Hawks, students are more engaged than ever with complex texts and are exceeding nationally normed expected growth on their most recent MAP assessment.
We are so proud of the hard work our teachers and students put in every day. Go Hawks!

Hendrick NJHS in Action!
Our hardworking 7th and 8th grade NJHS students wrapped up the school year with a campus cleanup service project—tackling the small stuff and focusing on microplastics. Their energy, positivity and sharp eyes made a big difference! Among the litter, they uncovered earbuds, microchips, curiously long nails, rogue school supplies, and other strange little treasures. Way to end the year strong, Hawks!

After several years without a team, Hendrick Middle School made a triumphant return to the Collin County Bar Association Mock Trial Competition—and these students gave it their all! 🎉
From prepping at school to making the Collin County Courthouse our home base (with donut-fueled discussions outside the Central Jury Room), these talented students brought their best to the courtroom.
🏅 Best Witness Awards:
Noah Sustaita (Expert Cardiologist)
Zoey Bosler (Creative Fear Artist & Defendant)
🏅 Best Attorney Awards:
Hailey Honeycutt – Won Best Attorney (of 4) in ALL THREE trials! 🏆🔥 She delivered standout performances as both an Assistant District Attorney and Defense Counsel, proving herself as a force in the courtroom every single time.
🎖 MVP of Dedication & Leadership:
Kimberlyn Elkins was the heart of this team, stepping up as both an Assistant District Attorney and a Defense Attorney. Always at practice, always willing to help teammates, and always putting in the hours to ensure the team was prepared, Kimberlyn kept the team going. And let’s not forget—she delivered a heckuva closing argument in our third trial! 💪🔥
👏 Outstanding Witnesses:
James Hamilton gave a powerful performance as the grieving teenager, testifying with conviction.
Isabella Gurgenidze was sharp and composed in her testimony as the competent police investigator, delivering key details with confidence.
Evanna Baskharoon (Edgy Actor) & Finnegan Manion (Social Psychologist Expert) gave stellar performances that helped shape the courtroom narratives.
🎭 Special shoutout to Miya Shnayderman, our Timekeeper & Team Morale Maestra, for keeping us on track and lifting spirits when things got intense!
🍩 And a huge THANK YOU to James Hamilton’s mom 😉 for fueling our team with delicious donuts and kolaches! We truly appreciated the courtroom sustenance!
💙 A very special thanks to our team’s unofficial grandmom, counselor Sally Villani, who went above and beyond to help with logistics, emotional support, and simply being there for our students throughout the entire day. We couldn’t have done it without her!
A big thank you as well to CCSO court bailiff Bill Rollins (husband of our amazing Ms. Karen Rollins), who took time during his break to wish us luck!
Final results coming soon, but one thing is certain: this team made Hendrick and ! 🔥💙
