Jackson Elementary Jackson Elementary in Plano ISD Jackson Elementary was founded in 1975 and was named after Frank William Jackson (1846 - 1927). Originally from Kentucky, Mr.

Jackson settled on a farm near Renner in the late 1800’s. He is well known for his support of church, education and progress, having donated land for schools, the Methodist Church and the Cotton Belt Railroad. Having served as president of the School Board for many years, Frank William Jackson’s support of schools and education was honored with the naming of Jackson Elementary School. Jackson's mo

💃 Releve Dance Is Back! 🩰
We are excited to announce that the FREE Releve Dance After-School Program is returning to Jackson Elementary! 🎉

The program is open to all students in PreK–5th grade. Students will have the opportunity to learn, move, and have fun while developing their dance skills!

📅 Program Schedule
PreK–2nd Grade: Mondays, 3:00–4:00 PM
3rd–5th Grade: Wednesdays, 3:00–4:00 PM

🚗 Important Pickup Information
Students must be picked up promptly at 4:00 PM. Parents/guardians are responsible for arranging transportation and pickup. Please note: Late pickups may result in removal from the program.
⭐ Limited Spots Available!

Scan the QR code on the flyer to sign up. Registration is first come, first served! The program is limited to:
20 students for Monday Sessions (PreK–2nd Grade)
20 students for Wednesday Sessions (3rd–5th Grade)
Once all spots are filled, additional students will be placed on a waitlist.

📅 Registration Deadline: September 8th
Families will be notified of their student’s enrollment status by Sept. 11th.

Jackson Elementary PTA has decided to hold a Read-A-Thon this year!
Read-A-Thons actually get your reader excited about reading and it gives friends and family the opportunity to encourage your child to read even more.

Our Read-A-Thon starts Monday September 21, 2026.

About one week before our Read-A-Thon starts we will send home instructions on how to activate your reader's personal page. This is where you will be able to view and record their progress.

We encourage you to activate your reader’s account today by clicking on https://www.read-a-thon.com/readers/r/3637393434/1?utm=email and following the simple instructions.

We've chosen Read-A-Thon because it will not take much of your time, gives your child a reason to read and helps in the development of stronger reading skills.

AVID—Advancement Via Individual Determination—helps our Jaguars build the skills, habits, and confidence they need to become organized, independent, collaborative, and determined learners. From asking thoughtful questions and communicating ideas to taking ownership of their learning and dreaming about future college and career possibilities, AVID strategies will be woven throughout the school day. 🌟📚

📚✨ Back-to-School Parent Information Night! ✨📚

Jackson families, we’d love to see you at our Parent Information Night on Wednesday, August 26, from 5:30–6:30 PM for families of students in Grades 1–5! 🐾💛

Join us to learn more about:
⭐ School programs
⭐ Academic expectations
⭐ How you can get involved
⭐ Resources and support available to your family

Presentations will be shared in advance, with opportunities for Q&A during the evening!

🚨 Safety Squad to the Rescue! 🚨

Today, we practiced all of our safety drills to kick off the school year and make sure our Jaguars are confident with our routines and procedures. 🐾

But these 5th grade girls took drill practice to a whole new level! 🎤👏 They created an AMAZING chant to help students remember our school emergency plan—and we think they might have a future in safety training! 😂

We love seeing our students take leadership, get creative, and help their peers learn something important. Way to go, 5th grade! 💛🖤
