Plano Asiafest is scheduled for this Saturday, 5/6, from 11 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Haggard Park in Plano. Since the very first Asiafest, Merit Chinese School has been participating every year to promote Chinese language and culture. It is an event at which your children can learn about the diversity of Asian cultures. Free admission. Everyone is welcome to join. The booth for our Chinese school is right across the stage.

美德中文學校慶祝農曆新年校內活動

‘Tis the "season of giving." Merit Chinese School will organize two fundraisers at the end of the year and hopes to get your support.

Merit Chinese School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The school is funded mainly by tuition. Therefore, every dollar raised in the fundraisers will go toward covering the increasing cost of running the school.

(1) Give the gift of love. Support our 99 Ranch gift card fundraiser!

We are now pre-selling 99 Ranch gift cards. The cards come in two values: $25 and $100. For every gift card you buy from Merit Chinese School, 99 Ranch will donate a small percentage of the sales to the Chinese school. Christmas and the New Year are coming up. Please kindly consider getting 99 Ranch gift cards for your grocery shopping as well as gifts for your friends and relatives. You can use it in the 99 Ranch Supermarket in Plano, Frisco, and Carrollton.

(2) Promote your business. Contribute to our 2023 Chinese New Year advertisement booklet fundraiser.

This year, the school will celebrate the lunar new year with the students on January 14, 2023. Students will learn about New Year's culture, history, and traditions during the class. We will also print a New Year's advertisement booklet and distribute it to the whole school. We welcome Merit families and friends to post an advertisement to promote their business or professional service.

In the past, professionals and businesses, including realtors, insurance agents, family doctors, dentists, accountants, restaurants, supermarkets, travel agencies, restaurants, handymen, music teachers, beauty salons, etc., have posted their advertisements in our booklets. We have found their services and information very useful. What a fantastic way to promote your company while also supporting a worthy cause! There is a small donation for posting an advertisement.

Thank you so much for our Merit families' generous fruits donation. In-One Music Ministry has brought them to the senior home yesterday. Our students, Alia Yau and Jonathan Yau, have joined the praise team on stage to perform for the seniors.

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival! We had so much fun celebrating the festival yesterday at school. We have watched a video about the tradition and story of the festival, made paper lanterns & moon cakes, enjoyed guessing the riddles & coloring a card and had fun jumping to the moon!
