Congratulations to all the winners of the NH State Fire Marshal's Office 3rd grade fire and life safety 2020 poster contest. Especially to our own from Pollard School, Samantha Hinchcliffe.
Cameron Lizier-Mahoney from Atkinson, New Hampshire is an 8th grader at Timberlane Regional Middle School 💜 When the Black Lives Matter peace marches started back in the summer, she created "Cameron's Diverse Library Project" because she felt there were not enough diverse books in the schools. 📚💜 In all she collected 350 books that she's donating to Atkinson Academy, Danville School, Pollard School and Sandown North. 💜📚 And she plans to do something similar again soon! 💜 Way to go Cameron! 💜💜💜

Hello?
Can't believe we are posting another 'viral trend' from Tik Tok, but it is happening and people are getting hurt. It is our obligation to provide a warning to you as parents, teachers and students of the dangers once again.

The Skullbreaker Challenge- Three participants stand in a row before jumping straight up in the air, however the two individuals on the ends kick inward making the middle person fall and subsequently hit their head on the ground. Injuries consist of concussions, bone fractures, skull fractures, and DEATH. Often, because it has gone viral, the middle participant knows what is going to happen and still goes through with it!

Talk with your children/students/siblings, know the social media platforms that are out their and be in the know. There are enough real dangers in the world out there, there is no need of this!

Students in Mrs. Shute's 3rd Grade Class at Pollard School have been researching New Hampshire, and various artifacts associated with the state. As part of this unit, students shared their findings in the form of "The 12 NH Facts of Christmas". This presentation has been done in Mrs. Shute's class for many years.
Summer is over, hope everyone had a great vacation!

Commuters, remember to leave earlier than usual so you don't have to tell your boss you were late because of the school bus. Or tell the Plaistow New Hampshire Police Department officer you were speeding because the school bus made you late.

New Hampshire Kid Governor 2022, Charlotte Cotti, ran on the Platform of - Helping The Homeless in New Hampshire. She recently conducted a Sock Drive in her school district, Timberlane. This drive collected 1,239 pairs of new socks between Pollard School, the SAU, and Sandown Central. All the socks were delivered to the organization “Families in Transition” in Manchester, NH. Sandown North School also collected socks for this drive and will be donating them to the shelter of their choice. Thanks to everyone in the district that donated. These socks will help people across NH that need our support in finding a home.

The Timberlane Art Department is proud to display our Fall/Winter District Art Show. We have complied a variety of artworks from our students in this virtual setting for all to see. These works of art represent the time and love for creativity and discovery. Art is a valued reflection of self and a representation of our children’s ability to play with abstract ideas. We thank you for our communities’ continued support in the arts and look forward to what the rest of the school year will bring us!

On February 14th the Second Graders participated in STEM activities organized by Mrs. Rodriguez. Students worked with each of the second-grade teachers to complete the following tasks: making the tallest candy heart tower, creating a holder to carry 30 candy hearts, and making the largest possible heart out of one piece of paper. Students also made tissue paper flower cards. It was a fun filled day!

The Pollard School Community is invited to go on a winter Story Walk. Pat Collins, Library Media Specialist, and Sue Tozier, Literacy Consultant installed our inaugural story. The first book posted is The Hat by Jan Brett. The Story Walk begins on the playground outside the car drop off door and ends on the other side of the building outside the entrance to the yellow building. Each page is numbered. The Story Walk was funded in part by a NH Humanities Sharp Grant received in conjunction with the Plaistow Public Library. Come and enjoy some “litercise”.
