Our 3rd-5th grade Boys on the Move completed their goal 5k race this past Saturday.

We're so proud of them for not only their growth as runners, but as teammates and encouragers who stick around to cheer *everyone* on, no matter their running pace or their usual social circles.

They each set out with both a personal running goal and a social teamwork goal, and we think it’s safe to say they knocked both out of the park!

The holiday season is right around the corner, and the Plainwell Volunteer Christmas Project is here to help make the season a little brighter for families in our community! ❤️💚

Families who could use a little extra support this holiday season are encouraged to apply. The program provides food, household essentials, and Christmas gifts for children ages 17 and under.

We’re looking for volunteer coaches for on The Run! 💜👟
Girls on the Run is more than an afterschool program — it’s an opportunity to help 3rd–5th grade girls build confidence, develop healthy habits, and strengthen important social-emotional skills in a fun and encouraging environment.

Our teams meet after school twice a week for 90 minutes, and each season is led by caring volunteer coaches who guide participants through engaging lessons and physical activity.

The best part? You do not need to be a runner, quit your job, or have a child on the team to volunteer. All you need is compassion, commitment, and a willingness to make a difference.
As a volunteer coach, you’ll have the chance to:
✨ Encourage and inspire young girls
✨ Help build confidence and healthy habits
✨ Serve as a positive role model
✨ Make a lasting impact in your community

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing art teacher, Mrs. Strader, and her sister for spending part of their weekend giving one of our Gilkey courtyard spaces some much-needed TLC!

They took on quite the project—removing invasive trees, poison ivy, overgrown bushes, weeds, debris, and so much more. The difference is incredible!

We are so grateful for their time, hard work, and willingness to go above and beyond to help make this outdoor space beautiful again for our Gilkey students and staff.

Thank you, Mrs. Strader and family, for showing just how special our Gilkey community is! 🦎

What an incredible accomplishment for our Gilkey community! 🦎💚

A HUGE thank you to our amazing Gilkey Parents Club for all of the time, planning, energy, and heart they poured into this year’s Rock the Block fundraiser. Because of their leadership—and the incredible support of our students, families, staff, and community—more than $40,500 was raised for Gilkey! 🎉

We are so grateful for everything our Parents Club does to support our students and make special opportunities like this possible.

Thank you as well to everyone who donated, participated, shared, and cheered us on along the way. We are so lucky to be part of such a supportive community.
