The Petit Family Foundation The Petit Family Foundation is a 501c3 charity that memorializes Jennifer, Hayley & Michaela Petit. A change for the better does not just happen.

The Petit Family Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt, non-profit organization. Any financial support donated will assist the foundation in fulfilling its mission. With your help we can promote opportunity for young women, continue the fight against chronic illness and extend a blanket of comfort for others affected by violence. We need each and every one of you to help fulfill our mission; you will all help to be the changes that JENNIFER, HAYLEY, and MICHAELA wanted to see in the world.

The Petit Family Foundation honors the memories of Jennifer-Hawke Petit, Hayley Elizabeth Petit and Michaela Rose Petit by continuing the kindness, idealism and activism that defined their lives. The foundation funds are given to foster the education of young people, especially women in the sciences; to improve the lives of those affected by chronic illness; and to support the efforts to help and protect those affected by violence.

We are proud to support at Westminster and its mission to advance educational equity and inspire the joy of learning.

This past summer, Horizons at Westminster partnered with UConn Health to introduce middle school students to diverse healthcare careers through a six-week program featuring hands-on activities and opportunities to learn from healthcare professionals.

We are proud to support programs that spark curiosity, expand opportunities, and inspire young people to envision bright futures!

We applaud CT BHI’s commitment to funding innovative research, bringing together leading experts, and helping move us closer to understanding and preventing this disease. Last night, our community came together for our annual Silent No More Candlelight Vigil. Recent heartbreaking homicides in our communities remind us how much is at stake. And with critical funding for domestic violence services in jeopardy, we cannot afford to move backward. We must move forward together and continue to protect the services survivors depend on.

Thank you to everyone who stood with us in remembrance, solidarity, and hope. A special thank you to our Vigil sponsor, Ryan T. We are proud to support The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, an organization creating meaningful opportunities for children and families navigating serious and chronic illness.

Our grant will help support Residential Family Camps, three-day, completely free experiences designed for families with a seriously ill child ages 5–15. With siblings and caregivers included, families can step away from the challenges of illness, reconnect with one another, and build lasting memories together through activities like fishing, swimming, zip lining, and more.

Family Camp offers a “different kind of healing”—a place where illness does not define a child or their family, and where everyone can feel understood, supported, and connected.

Nancy Barlow, Manager, Foundations of Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, spoke with Dr. Bill Petit, President of the Petit Family Foundation, about the Camp’s mission and how our grant will help bring these powerful experiences to more families.

We are honored to help support a place where families find belonging, build resilience, and make memories that last a lifetime. 💙

The deadline to apply for the Fall 2026 Hayley Petit Injury and Violence Prevention Fellowship at Connecticut Children's is fast approaching. This unique opportunity empowers undergraduate women to learn from experts, engage in community outreach, and develop innovative ideas that promote injury and violence prevention across Connecticut.

Created in memory of Hayley Elizabeth Petit, this fellowship reflects the Petit Family Foundation’s commitment to inspiring young women and supporting the next generation of leaders dedicated to building safer, healthier communities.

What a special evening celebrating our treasured friends at the Petit Family Foundation! 💜

PCC was honored to join The Petit Family Foundation, Space Foundation, and Connecticut Science Center for an evening recognizing the Petit Family Foundation’s incredible commitment to opening doors for young people through STEM education and opportunities across Connecticut.

The evening was made even more memorable by hearing from former NASA astronaut Winston Scott and celebrating the impact that can grow when community partners come together around young people and their futures.

We are deeply grateful for the unwavering friendship and partnership of the Petit Family Foundation, and for the leadership of Dr. Bill Petit and the Board. Their generosity, compassion, and steadfast support have touched so many lives throughout our community, including survivors and families served by PCC. It was a joy and privilege to be there to celebrate them and the incredible difference they continue to make in the lives of so many 💜
