The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District is a high-performing District with excellent, award-winning music, arts and athleti

cs programs. The District operates one senior high school, two middle schools, four elementary schools, and one kindergarten center with an approximate enrollment of 5000. POB students continue to perform impressively in all areas of schooling, including music, theatre, the fine arts and sports.

What's New Around the District!

This summer, our facilities, maintenance and custodial teams have been hard at work enhancing our schools and preparing for the year ahead.

Recent improvements include new hallway branding wraps, flooring, pool blocks, turf and track at POBJFKHS; carpeting in the POBMS auditorium; ceilings in the Mattlin cafeteria and classrooms at POBMS and Stratford Road; and playground paving at Pasadena and Old Bethpage.

These projects help create safe, welcoming and engaging learning environments for students and staff as we look forward to another great school year!

Introducing the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s newest administrators! Next up is Mary LaMotta, Director of Literacy and Libraries, K-12.

“I love working in education because education provides a gift of exploring the unknown. Every day brings something new, and I love the surprises and unpredictable moments that each student brings to the classroom," said Ms. LaMotta. "Education is a place where curiosity, creativity, and individuality shine. The human connections, growth and joy of learning make this work so meaningful."

Introducing the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s newest administrators! Next up is Carli Adler, Assistant Director of Pupil Personnel Services, Grades 5-8.

“I love working in education because it gives me the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with students, families and colleagues while helping every child feel supported, included and successful,” said Ms. Adler. “Some words I live by are ‘Be yourself; everyone else is already taken,’ by Oscar Wilde.”

Introducing the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s newest administrators! Next up is Carrie D’Oria, Assistant Principal of Plainview-Old Bethpage Middle School.

“I love working in education because every day presents an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students,” said Ms. D’Oria. “As an assistant principal, I love to support teachers in their professional growth. Being part of a school building means you are part of a team that can help build a school culture where everyone feels valued and accepted for who they are.”

Introducing the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District’s newest administrators! First up is Jeff Salzberg, Director of Physical Education, Health, Athletics & Recreation.

“I love working in education because I enjoy hearing former students/athletes talk about the positive impact our programs had on them,” said Mr. Salzberg. “Some words I live by are ‘Nobody wins afraid of losing,’ by Chris Stapleton and ‘Excuses are roadblocks to success,’ by Jerrel Steele, a former athlete I coached.”
