If it is Monday it is time to learn about the latest ! The Kirschenbaums are definitely familiar faces to many in our school community!

Today’s features the Kirschenbaum family! Their son Rami will be in the first 3rd grade class, while Oren will be in the first kindergarten class, and Adin will start his Mercaz academic career in the first nursery aleph class. While Lielle isn’t old enough to be in the classroom, she is already excited to be a frequent visitor to the school! Shanee and Josh have loved being a part of the inception of Mercaz Academy and are thrilled for what it means for the community and Jewish education on Long Island. “We know Mercaz will offer a warm and caring atmosphere, with excellent secular and Jewish education, where our children will thrive! We are especially looking forward to the broad spectrum of enrichment and extracurricular activities that cater to our children’s varied interests”, says Shanee. You may not know this, but Josh was born and raised in Plainview and loves raising his family in his hometown!

A few kids from school swung by ShopRite of Plainview today to personally thank Michele Rott and Mr. Greenfield for all their time and help this year! From fruit cups at our Shabbat Project Program to all of the Allergy Awareness collaborations, in addition to being one of our lunch program providers, the entire school wanted to show our hakarat hatov to the team at Country Pointe! We are so lucky to have you in our community!

Happy ! The Obadia-Sullivan's started at HANC-Plainview this year and I think we can all agree they are a wonderful addition to the school community!

It is ! This week's is the Obadia-Sullivan family! Hailing from Stonybrook, Brian, Elana, Daveed and Ian proudly represent the Suffolk community. Daveed will be in the first second grade class at Mercaz Academy, while Ian will take his place in Toddlers in Fall 2023. They were drawn to the school for its small environment where everyone is friendly and caring. Elana says "We love the atmosphere of the school, and we felt extremely welcomed when we moved to Long Island last year. We are so happy the amiable staff and families will be continuing to the new school with us." You may not know this about the Obadia-Sullivans, but they are a mix of Sfardi and Ashkenazi and their house is full of music all the time. You can find any one of them on the piano or guitar at any given moment!

(The choice board is ECC-2nd Grade and the minutes board is 3rd-6th grade.) The school might have a new name but the summer reading system is the same! Return your completed sheet and get a prize the first week back from Mrs. Goldberg! Shabbat Shalom and Happy Reading!

The Kindergarten and 4th Graders had an amazing morning at Old Bethpage Village Restoration!!! They learned so much about what life was like in the “olden days” before technology and Amazon deliveries! They asked thoughtful questions and had a great time!
