The Fifth Grade State Fair was a blast! 🇺🇸 Months of student research, writing, design, creativity, engineering, and hard work became the most eye-catching, star-spangled state displays. From the LEGO arches of Utah to the 3D-printed islands of Hawaii and everywhere in between, through brochures, booklets, paintings, mini floats and games, fifth graders highlighted the best of American geography, culture and history. We’re ready to pack our bags! 🧳

Major todah rabah to the for going above and beyond to make sure our teachers felt truly appreciated this week! From planning kid-friendly activities to encourage student participation, to serving special treats and a delicious sponsored lunch for our staff, and even distributing challot to every teacher for Shabbat, our PTA and parents showed up for Mercaz! ❤️❤️

For , Noah’s Ark—this time in the form of a visiting zoo—sailed into Mercaz! Our youngest students got a first-hand taste of what the ark might have been like: full of fascinating and unusual creatures. From ECC through kindergarten, children were invited to observe, gently touch, and even hold some of the animals if they wished. Visitors included soft chinchillas and bunnies, waving leaf bugs, scaly pythons and boas, turtles and tortoises, and even a South American tegu lizard. Students wondered how many snakes, turtles, or lizards might have been aboard Noah’s tevah—two or seven? The kindergarteners knew that since these animals aren’t kosher, only two of each were invited onto the ark.

Join us on Sunday, November 2nd for our first open house event of the year - a delicious pancake brunch and an engaging Kerboom Kidz movement program designed just for preschoolers! Families are invited to watch their little ones dance, move, and laugh with the high-energy team, then enjoy a pancake brunch. You’ll also get a taste of what makes our community so warm, welcoming and special, whether you’re a longtime Mercaz family or new to our school.

This free event is perfect for children aged 2-4. Siblings are invited, too!
