What an amazing night at our FFA banquet on Tuesday! We are incredibly thankful for everyone who came out to celebrate and support our students. The encouragement we receive from our parents, administration, school board, teachers, and community means so much to our program. We are excited for the year ahead and look forward to continuing to grow, succeed, and create opportunities for our kiddos through FFA!

We are so proud of the seniors and ready watch them create their own path!

Last Monday, members made the quick drive to Brownfield for the Mesa District FFA Spring Meeting. Students were recognized for their CDE accomplishments and had the opportunity to elect new Mesa District officers.

We are especially proud to share that two of our very own chapter officers were selected for district office! Please help us congratulate Ryleigh Mendez and Kelsi Moore as your 2026–2027 Mesa District Treasurer and Chaplain!

What a whirlwind trip for our Milk Quality team!

We hit the road to Stephenville for the state contest and made a pit stop to compete at the pre-state contest. The team placed 14th overall, and a huge shoutout to Kyndall Purvis for snagging 2nd place individually! What an incredible accomplishment!

I’m so proud of these students for stepping outside their comfort zone and trying a new contest this year. They trusted the process, put in the work, and it paid off! Now they’re fired up, focused, and already chasing that state trip for next year!

Our meats team had an incredible trip to College Station for the State FFA Meats Judging Contest! Along the way, they made six stops to practice and sharpen their skills, including a stop in Stephenville at the Tarleton Pre-State Contest.

We’re beyond grateful for Mr. Rains and the dedication he puts into coaching this team, his support truly makes a difference.

Out of teams from across the entire state of Texas (1A–6A), our team placed 41st overall! A special shoutout to Riley Martin for ranking among the top 100 individual meat judgers in the state, an amazing accomplishment!

So proud of this hardworking group!

Missing Taylor Rains on this trip as she was competing at the Regional UIL contest, but we know she was representing Plains ISD well!

If you need to update your quality counts start now!! Don’t wait until the fall when things are crazy and it is crunch time for major sign ups.

Quality Counts is now open for members who need to complete the course for the first time or renew their verification.

Quality Counts verification is required for all major livestock show exhibitors, and the verification number must be included when submitting entries. Some county and local shows may also require certification, so early completion is strongly encouraged.

Remember, exhibitors only need to complete Quality Counts once per grade level division: Junior (Grades 3–5); Intermediate (Grades 6–8); Senior (Grades 9–12).
