Dear Friends of the Initiative,

We have reformed the Board and are restructuring the organization to support teens, parents and to offer supplemental programming. We really want to welcome you to participate! These are the present opportunities:

Renaming the Initiative
We are especially looking for suggestions or participation in renaming the Initiative. Do you have suggestions for our new name?

Wilderness First Aid Certification
This summer we will co host a NOLS (National Outdoor Leadership School) Wilderness First Aid Certification with Orchard Valley Waldorf School. The 2 day training will be held during the first week of August. Are you interested?

Adolescent Study
We are gathering names of those interested in sharing a reading and study of adolescence based on the work of Rudolf Steiner.

New Board
This week the former Board elected a new Board including Marianne Perchlik, Chair/Facilitator, Andrew Perchlik, Treasurer, Joan Kahn and Madelief Becherer who will also be serving as a liaison to the Orchard Valley Waldorf School. Would you be interested in participating on the Board?

Do you have questions about how to support your children during adolescence? Do you notice the kinds of things they ask for as young adults and wonder how best to support them? Are you a student age 12-21 interested in alternatives in your education experience?

Last June The Initiative: a Vermont Waldorf High School at Goddard College closed its program, yet the non profit remains, and is currently restructuring to support families of adolescents and young adults in the central Vermont community.

We look forward to the return of the Odyssey travelers tomorrow. They have been canoeing and biking for 9 days and are currently visiting Heartbeat Lifesharing on their journey home to Stokes at Goddard College tomorrow!
