The annual junior trip to the Columbus Zoo….complete with a behind-the-scenes tour of the Animal Health facility! They even got to see some prep work for a sea lion procedure! After some “moosin’” around, it was time to head for home!

HOSA SLC 2026 Trip Recap!

Day 1: We couldn’t have asked for a better day at the Toledo Zoo! Cooler weather, cloudy skies, no crowds, and the animals were actively front and center! We also had a private critter experience! The evening included a fun HOSA night at the Glass City Center and an 18th birthday celebration for our very own Kinsey Binkley!

Day 2: Competition day is a long day! But fun nonetheless! The evening finished up with some pizza and a dance that had the floors (and doors) bumpin’!

Day 3: Awards day! The Pickaway-Ross Veterinary Assisting program had 4 Top 10 finishers. 2 in Veterinary Medical Laws & Ethics (Kinsey Binkley, Alexandria Bunke) and 2 in Veterinary Medical Terminology (Anne Balusik, Grace Burns), with one Bronze medal finish in Veterinary Medical Laws & Ethics (Alexandria Bunke). Congratulations!

Our ride home included a stop at Cracker Barrel, and of course some browsing!

We are offering one more vaccine clinic before the school year ends! Schedule your pet's annual exam, vaccines, 4Dx (Heartworm & Tickborne Disease Testing), fecals, and other exam-room procedures, such as a**l gland expressions and nail trims. Be sure to let us know at the time of scheduling if you need prevention! DOGS AND CATS WELCOME!

There are 2 ways to schedule or to get answers to any questions you may have! Email us at [email protected] or call our reception desk directly at 740-642-1376 between 8:30am-11:00am or 11:40am-2:15pm Monday thru Friday. Be sure to leave a voicemail if we do not answer, so we may return your call.

Appointment safety:
-All pets must be on a leash or in a pet carrier. A slip lead or a carrier can be provided to you if you do not have one. Just come in and ask BEFORE bringing your pet in.
-Please be mindful that not all dogs get along with one another.
-For services such as nail trims and a**l gland expressions that do not include a vaccine appointment, all dogs MUST be current (with proof) on Rabies and Kennel Cough!

Please understand that our students are learning to be veterinary assistants. Your patience is much appreciated!

Acceptable payment methods: CASH OR CHECK ONLY!
