Cedar Springs Learning Center CSLC offers Waldorf-Inspired, in-person classroom education, 4 days a week. Kindergarten-8th Grade

Formerly Cedar Springs Waldorf School (CSWS), Cedar Springs Learning Center is excited to offer Waldorf-inspired education to Early Childhood through 7th Grade in 2024-2025. Cedar Springs’ vision, mission, and values continue to guide this work and we are looking forward to bringing Waldorf-inspired education to more families in the future. Our campus is located in Placerville just minutes from the freeway on a beautiful 5+ acres near the Sierra Foothills in Northern CA. We are grateful for the dedicated and talented Waldorf teachers and community leaders who have been growing and shepherding Waldorf-inspired education at Cedar Springs since 2021. In the 2023-2024 academic year, the program served nearly 80 students Parent-Child through 6th Grade and will be moving into 7th Grade in 2024-2025. Learning Centers have been successfully implemented at Waldorf and other schools (https://friendsofwillowtree.org/) and will allow Cedar Springs to better expand into the homeschool and greater community of El Dorado County. At Cedar Springs, even our chalkboards become works of art.

Created by the loving hands of our teachers, these drawings welcome children into each new lesson through beauty, color, and imagination. Slowly revealed as part of the learning experience, each image helps bring stories and ideas to life—inviting wonder, curiosity, and connection.

We are so grateful for the artistry, care, and intention our teachers bring to their classrooms. Their beautiful chalkboard drawings remind us that learning can nourish not only the mind, but also the heart and imagination. 🌿

What a joy it has been to welcome everyone back to campus! There is something especially beautiful about coming together again. 🌻

Our opening day ceremony marked the beginning of a new academic journey as our first graders were welcomed with flowers by their eighth-grade buddies—companions who will walk beside them throughout the year.

Since then, it has been wonderful to see smiling faces on the playground, children settling into the familiar rhythm of their classrooms, and joyful connections unfolding throughout our community.

With wonder before them, caring companions beside them, and a community gathered around them, a new year at Cedar Springs has begun. We look forward to all that will grow and blossom in the months ahead. 🌿

We could not be more honored to welcome our newest teachers to the Cedar Springs Learning Center community: Ms. Martie Fine, our Rose Kindergarten teacher; Ms. Nikkonia Quirie, our First Grade teacher; and Ms. Nicole Ruday, our Third Grade teacher.

Having these inspiring women join our community brings such a sense of joy, warmth, and possibility. We are deeply grateful for the gifts, wisdom, and love they will bring to our classrooms and to our children.

We’re excited to share that registration for our Waldorf-inspired Kindergarten Summer of Wonder Camp is now open!

Looking for a wonder-filled experience for your child this summer? We are offering three magical weeks of camp designed to nurture imagination, creativity, and connection with nature.

Five wooded acres and serene classrooms will provide fertile ground for developmentally sound, play-based exploration. Experienced Early Childhood Educators will lovingly guide healthy social relationships, nourish imaginative play and foster caring connection with the natural world. Wholesome, rhythmic daily activities include singing, movement, storytelling, crafts, water play and nature walks.

Each day flows with a gentle rhythm of wholesome activities, including:

📖 Storytelling
🎨 Nature-inspired crafts
💦 Water play
🌿 Nature walks
