Congratulations to the Hawk Talk Class of 2026!

Over the past four years, these talented storytellers inspired our school community through Hawk Talk, their short films, documentaries, podcasts, and outstanding live events work.

Along the way, they successfully completed the Video Production pathway of the Digital Media Arts Academy, leaving a lasting impact on our program.

We are incredibly proud of you and grateful for the stories you've shared. We can't wait to see what you have in store for the next chapter. Once a Hawk (Talk), always a Hawk (Talk). đź–¤

On Saturday, May 23rd, Fernando Nuñez's film "My Life in Puzzle Pieces" was named the Best Autobiography at the 2026 California Student Media Festival held at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.

The DMAA Student of the Week for 5/25-5/31 is Tyler Song. Tyler Song has been in the Digital Media Arts Academy in the photography pathway all 4 years of high school. This past year Tyler has been working in the photography field, doing creative directing work for fashion photography campaigns, as well as shooting film, flat lays, and models for an LA clothing brand. Tyler has become an expert helping with the whole process of designing and producing the clothing and accessories for the brand, traveling to the fabric district, leather shops, and dye factory. He also creates videos and photographs the clothing for the brand’s instagram account and has done several photoshoots of models in various locations promoting their new drops. Tyler’s AP Portfolio revolved around these photo shoots. We are so proud of Tyler’s success and cannot wait to see his portfolio grow! Congratulations, Tyler, on being this week’s Digital Media Arts student of the week!

This week’s DMAA Student of the Week: The DMAA Student of the Week for 5/18-5/24 is Abigail “Abby” Guzman

This week’s featured artist is someone who consistently demonstrates what it means to grow as a creative. Abby approaches every project with enthusiasm and an eagerness to push beyond her comfort zone, never settling, always evolving. Her willingness to tackle new techniques and challenges head-on is a quality that sets her apart, and the results speak for themselves. We are incredibly proud of the work Abby puts out and even more proud of the artist she is becoming.

Cayden Shum is the DMAA Student of the Week for 5/11-5/17. Cayden Shum has been selected as DMAA student of the week for digital design because he consistently comes into class ready to get to work and he brings up positive attitude every single day. He collaborates well with his classmates, contributes to the classroom, and has shown a genuine passion for design work. For these reasons Cayden is the student of the week for DMAA.

Olive Magnisi is the DMAA Student of the Week for 4/27-5/3!

Olive has consistently demonstrated an exceptionability to think conceptually, approaching every project with a depth of imagination that sets her work apart. What makes Olive truly outstanding is not just her creativity, but her remarkable work ethic. She arrives with a vision, puts her head down, and sees it through with focus and determination. Watching her translate bold ideas into finished, thoughtful artwork is a testament to both her artistic talent and her character. Olive is the kind of student who reminds us why we teach. I am incredibly proud of her.

Brady Bogan is the DMAA student of the week for 4/19-4/25.

This week’s student of the week is Brady Bogan, a senior in the design rescue studio. Brady has demonstrated a real sense of creativity and professionalism in dealing with his client’s design projects throughout the year in the Design Rescue studio.

Daniel Cirata is the DMAA Student of the Week for 4/13-4/19. Danny is a four-year Video Production pathway student who is currently in Honors Film and Broadcasting. He has been a consistent and valuable part of our program, especially through his hard work on Jock Talk. Danny is always looking for ways to make the segment stronger and is never afraid to share thoughtful input to help it become the best it can be.

Beyond his creativity and effort, Danny is also an incredibly helpful and dependable team member. He consistently brings a strong work ethic, treats others with consideration and respect, and plays an important role in the overall flow of Hawk Talk. Danny’s commitment to quality and teamwork makes a real difference in our class.

Congratulations, Danny, on being named this week’s DMAA Student of the Week.

The DMAA Student of the Week for 5/4-5/10 is Barron Syams, a third-year DMAA Film Pathway student currently in Advanced Video Production.

Barron has become one of the most dedicated, hardworking, and creative members of Hawk Talk. Whether he is filming, editing, creating graphics, or contributing visual effects, Barron brings a high level of care and creativity to everything he does. His passion for filmmaking shows in the quality of his work and in the energy he brings to each project.

Barron is especially talented in cinematography, editing, graphics, and VFX, making him a valuable and versatile part of our production team. He has a strong eye for visuals, a natural sense of storytelling, and the ability to take creative ideas and bring them to life on screen.

Just as importantly, Barron is known for being helpful, dependable, and collaborative. He takes initiative, communicates well with his teammates, and is always willing to support others when they need help. His leadership, creativity, and work ethic make Hawk Talk stronger.

Congratulations, Barron, and thank you for representing the DMAA Film Pathway so well!
