✨Happy International Day of the Girl ✨

Today and every day, we champion students with vision, voice, interpersonal efficacy, and gumption — in the classroom and beyond. Girls who lead, create, lift each another up, and shape the world ahead.

In Hallmark Classical Languages class, MHS students explore the ancient world through language and material culture. In addition to reading Latin literature, they learn Greek in order to investigate mythology, social history, and archaeology. With student-selected readings and project-based learning, their studies expand critical thinking, build confidence, and introduce the collegial and professional landscape of the field of Classics.

The 🍁 colors are coming in, and MHS hiking enthusiasts are taking stock! Led by Senior Campus Safety Officer Jake Butler, the group sets out each week on a new trail , exploring this beautiful place we call home.

Most recently, they hiked meadow-to-woods-to-lake at Gould Meadows in nearby Stockbridge. 🥾

The week before, it was the Old Mill Trail in Hinsdale — namesake of our founder, Mira Hinsdale Hall, and, before her, Nancy Hinsdale, who in 1806 incorporated the first girls’ school in Massachusetts. That school became in 1898. 💪

MHS Museum Studies and Photography students are spending time at The Mount this semester — walking the grounds, meeting with curators, and exploring sculpture throughout the woods and gardens of Edith Wharton’s historic home. 📷🌿

Each Photo student has use of a single-lens reflex camera for the entire school year, giving them the time and space to experiment, practice, and develop their own way of seeing.

The classes are exploring FLOURISH, The Mount’s current exhibition featuring artwork that reflects connection, growth, hope, resilience, and the ways communities thrive when people come together.
