Last year, I wrote a post on what students should do over summer vacation. I stick by my prescription: fun should be paramount (SAT word!). However, if a student wants to attend a summer enrichment program, these types of programs can be fabulous ideas.

Unfortunately, there’s never a good time for a post like this. Most families are not thinking about summer programs in the middle of the winter, even as they may be daydreaming about heading to a sunny beach and, if you have my complexion, working on becoming slightly less pale. And if you’re, instead, daydreaming about academic enrichment in the summer, you might want to seek help from a licensed counselor. 😄

Another important reminder for takers tomorrow: give your brain a break this afternoon. There is no amount of studying the day before the test that will help, but treating yourself to a day off from school work will work wonders.

If you’re taking the this , make sure to get some rest tonight! Any athlete will tell you: your the night before the test is far less important to your success than your sleep the night before the night before.
