There's still time to prank your kids for April Fool's Day! Here's some harmless fun to be had:

FOR AGES 3-13
Before the kids get home:
- Make an upside-down room by re-arranging/turning all the lightweight furniture upside down.
- Mixed up PJs - Swap items from one child's bedroom with their sibling's, like their pajama drawers

For after-school snack:
- Color-changing milk - Add a few drops of food coloring to the bottom of an opaque pitcher and fill with milk. Then pour a glass and watch it change colors when poured!
- ā€œJuiceā€ that’s actually Jell-O - Prepare gelatin in clear cups with straws. It looks drinkable but isn’t.

Do as a Family:
- Name swap - Everyone has to call each other by different names for an hour.
- Silent morning - Communicate only with notes or exaggerated gestures.

For dessert:
- Savory ā€œIce creamā€ - Scoop mashed potatoes into cones; add gravy as ā€œchocolate syrup.ā€
- Brown ā€œE’sā€ - Cut out letter E shapes from brown paper, put them in a pan, and say you made brownies.

FOR OLDER KIDS (7–13)
- TV remote ā€œbrokenā€ - Put tape over the sensor.
- Toothpaste surprise - Give your kids their toothbrushes prepared with cream cheese instead of toothpaste (avoid if picky/sensitive).

KID GUIDELINES
Fast reveal: Especially for younger kids (3–6), resolve within seconds.
No humiliation: Avoid pranks that could embarrass anyone in front of peers.
No loss or damage: Don’t ruin favorite items or create real inconvenience.
Respect sensitivities: Some kids don’t like food surprises or sensory tricks.
Everyone's allowed to prank back (adults, kids, siblings, grandparents) as long as they follow these guidelines!
