Today, FAME celebrates 33 years of impact!
FAME was founded in 1993 with a vision to create greater educational opportunities for Black students in the Pittsburgh region and help build a pathway to greater representation and leadership in our community.
Working in partnership with local independent schools (Sewickley Academy, The Ellis School, Shady Side Academy, St. Edmunds Academy, and Wi******er Thurston School ), that vision began with scholarships and support for a small group of students.
Thirty-three years later, FAME has grown and evolved, expanding beyond scholarships to provide academic, leadership, and enrichment opportunities that help Scholars learn, grow, and thrive.
Today, we celebrate the Scholars and families who are at the heart of our work, the many people and partners who have helped build FAME along the way, and all that is still ahead.
Here’s to 33 years of creating opportunities, building futures, and believing in what’s possible.
