Wow!!! Our school supplies drive is over and we are over the moon with all of the donations we received!! Thank you so so much to anyone who donated to our drive, we appreciate it so much and we know the 5th graders at Faison will too! 😊 We can’t wait to stuff the backpacks when we get back next semester. Julie & Alexis (our membership and fundraising chairs) helped deliver developmentally appropriate books (collected by the Office of Child Development) about dealing with fear / grief and embracing diversity to some of the early childhood centers and preschools throughout Pittsburgh yesterday. The School of Education and entire Pitt community continue to come together in the months after the Tree of Life shooting to love our neighbors and show that hate has no place in our city!!

Happy , December Edition !!! Let’s give a warm welcome to Kailee Caulfield .. She is a junior in the ADP CASE program who hopes to teach special education for grades 1-4 after graduation. In the summer, Kailee works at Aaron's Acres which is a camp for children who have disabilities. Here they provide a safe and fun environment for kids to learn, grow and succeed despite any challenges they may be facing! On campus, she works for the Office of the Dean and Student Conduct and volunteers with Jumpstart.

Fun fact: Kailee went to an Ellen Degeneres Show in LA last summer & was shown on television a few times throughout the showing of the episode!

After a short break, welcome back to !!! Meet Natalie Christopher, a sophomore planning to enter the CASE program next year. She has previously taught at schools in Jamaica on mission trips, volunteered at Vacation Bible School, and babysits. After graduation, Natalie hopes to teach second grade somewhere warm ☀️ !! On campus, she is a part of Kappa Delta sorority () and Future Educators of America.

Fun Fact: Natalie is currently planning a backpacking trip around Europe for the summer after her junior year 🎒 !!

Happy !!! Meet Emmelia Jaffe, a junior in the CASE program. In the past, Emmelia has taught at summer art camps, in a preschool class through her high school, & volunteered with NCJW’s Back 2 School Store !! In the future, she hopes to teach in an elementary school👩🏻🏫.. Here at Pitt, Emmelia is involved in Alpha Delta Pi (@ ), National Society of Leadership and Success, Phi Eta Sigma, and Jewish Heritage Program.
