Congratulations to all the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters 3rd year Apprentices who attended the 3rd Year Apprentice Program: "Helping Build Our Industries" this past weekend at the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America International Training Center.

🎉 Congratulations to the our Heavy Highway and Piledrivers Local 274 apprentice Anthony Antonini on receiving the 17th Annual Brandon Chaney CAWP CLC Scholarship!

Developed in 2008 by the Constructors Association of Western Pennsylvania Constructors Leadership Council, this scholarship was named in memory of Brandon Chaney, an aspiring third-generation heavy/highway construction professional who died at the age of 16 in an automobile accident before he could realize this goal.

To honor his memory, this scholarship was created to support others who aspire to work in the heavy/highway industry and is awarded to the top-ranking first-year apprentice in each of the four heavy and highway apprenticeship programs in western Pennsylvania. Year after year, the recipients of this scholarship have set the standard for the future workforce of the heavy and highway construction industry in our region!

"Paganie, a union carpenter himself for more than a quarter-century, currently oversees workforce preparation at the Lebanon, Duncansville and Pittsburgh technical centers, training the next generation of builders for a union with 43,000 members across six Northeastern U.S. states."

Congratualtions, Rich Paganie! Rich has been selected as a featured economic and workforce development trailblazer for Pennsylvania. His work in developing post-grad students into valued members of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters union earned his spot in this year's ranking. The 2025 Carpenter's Open House/Expo was a major success!
