Since 1927, Central Catholic High School has been building a proud tradition of excellence as a high school for young men. The school is conducted by the Christian Brothers, diocesan clergy, and dedicated laymen and laywomen under the auspices of the Diocese of Pittsburgh. We believe that we fulfill our mission by challenging each student to attain his individual potential and by assisting each student in developing Christian values and the skills necessary for responsible living in the present and future world. Central Catholic High School is accredited by the PA Department of Education and the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Department of Education has recognized Central Catholic as one of the nation's "outstanding secondary schools." Students come from the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding suburbs and represent more than 115 grade schools and 100 parishes. Current enrollment is approximately 870 students. Located in the Oakland area, the school is in the center of the educational and cultural district of Pittsburgh, within walking distance of the University of Pittsburgh, Carnegie-Mellon University, and The Carnegie. The school's location allows students to take advantage of nearby museums, cultural centers, libraries, and places of historical interest.
