⚖️ The AMCB welcomed our newest alumni back for a Bar Exam Study Break earlier this week. Thank you to Professor Karsman, Professor Kerlin, and Clare for treating our grads to a well-deserved chance to recharge before the final push. We wish all of our graduates taking the bar exam the very best of luck. You have worked incredibly hard to reach this point, and we know you are ready to succeed!

The first week of April, the Duquesne Kline AMCB team competed at the 2026 White & Case Jessup International Rounds of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in Washington D.C. against 163 teams from more than 100 countries from across the world.

This was a continuation of the success the team made of Darren McKenzie (3L), Olivia Brophy (2L), and Collin Ishimaru (2L) had at the National Round in March.

This historic advancement resulted in our team being
one of 7 teams from the United States to advance to the elimination round.

🏆 Duquesne Kline finished as the 50th place team in the world out of 806 teams from around the world.
⭐️ Thank you to Professor Kerlin and Brian Davis for their coaching skills!

Last weekend the AMCB sent a team consisting of Luke Lacher (2L), Alyssa Volomino (2L), and Harry Hayden (2L) traveled to Washington, D.C., to compete at the Seigenthaler-Sutherland Cup National First Amendment Moot Court Competition in Washington, D.C. - the oldest moot court competition in the nation!

⭐️ The team delivered two outstanding arguments before narrowly missing advancement to the quarter-final round.

🥇Impressively, Luke Lacher was named #1 Best Advocate out of 90 advocates in the competition! Congratulations, Luke!

We are so proud of this team of 2Ls and cannot wait to see what they have in store next season!

Yesterday, the AMCB hosted a mock argument and information session in anticipation of the Jessup International Finals. Thank you to everyone who attended. Interested 1Ls, be on the lookout for another information session and AMCB members in your LRW class! Good luck to Colin Ishimaru (2L), Olivia Brophy (2L), and Darren McKenzie (3L) as they travel back to D.C. this weekend to represent the United States and Duquesne Kline at the International Finals!

Tomorrow in Room 204 all are invited to observe a mock argument from our Jessup International Team, in anticipation of the Internal Final Round. The AMCB will also be providing information on the tryout process at this event. We hope to see you there!

Two weeks ago, our team at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition made history!

🏆 The team comprised of Darren McKenzie (3L), Olivia Brophy (2L), and Collin Ishimaru (2L) advanced to the International Rounds of the Jessup Competition, marking the first time a Duquesne Kline School of Law team has advanced to the international stage of the Jessup Competition and will be 1 of only 15 law schools to represent the United States!
** The team also wrote the 5th Best Memorial (brief) in the competition out of 91 teams.

⭐️ Darren McKenzie received an advocate award, placing 25th out of 360 advocates.

🥇 Olivia Brophy won the #1 Best Advocate award, making Duquesne Kline history.

We are so proud of this team and look forward to supporting them in the International Rounds!

Two weeks ago, two of our Duquesne Kline AMCB teams competed at the National Appellate Advocacy Competition in Chicago at ABA Headquarters.

Ciaran Lamb (3L), Simon Jaronski (3L), and Drew Gudenburr (3L) argued four times advancing to the semifinals. Joe Kelly (3L), Kaelyn Underwood (3L), and Elizabeth Stern (3L) placed in the top four teams at the Chicago Regional and will be advancing to the National Championship next month! Elizabeth also secured a Best Advocate Award.

Great job to everyone and thank you to coaches Professor Kerlin and Professor Karsman for all your time and help!

Last weekend, two of our teams traveled to Notre Dame Law School to compete at the 10th Annual National Appellate Advocacy Tournament for Religious Freedom. Jordan Timmons (2L) and Jackson Vento (2L) won the coveted Best Brief award and advanced to the Final Four! Madison Eidemueller (2L) and Jason Sweeney (2L) also had an impressive showing, finishing as quarterfinalists. Great job!

This weekend, two of our teams traveled to William & Mary Law School to compete at the William B. Spong Tournament. Our 3Ls, Emily Veltri and Lewis Richardson, advanced twice to make it to the Octofinal round, finishing in the top 16 out of 42 teams. Our 2Ls, Jack Forsythe and Breanna Tomsey, did extremely well at their first competition. Thank you to their coaches, both AMCB Alumni, Jacob and Maria Hanley! Great job everyone!
