Yesterday, we welcomed alumnus Namgi Park (PhD ’93) back to campus for a talk about mitigating the pandemic’s achievement gap in Korea. Park shared policy solutions that can help the U.S. and other countries that are facing similar problems.

We want to thank everyone who joined us for a talk by Pitt Education alumna Kakenya Ntaiya on breaking down barriers to girls' education with her nonprofit, Kakenya's Dream. Kakenya shared with us the challenges facing girls in rural/remote communities and how her organization is empowering them through education, community engagement, and advocacy. We are inspired by Kakenya's work and the impact it is having on vulnerable girls and their communities in rural Kenya.
