Penn State Extension’s Homesteading Series is designed for creative do-it-yourselfers with an interest in sustainable food and living adventures.

Each workshop features an expert instructor leading hands-on demonstrations in a variety of homesteading activities which are scalable for home, apartment, or community projects.

USDA agencies met with some of our Pittsburgh urban ag partners on Wednesday at the Penn State Center Pittsburgh, working together to build relationships and improve impact. Had the opportunity to tour some great urban ag and conservation spots, including Tree Pittsburgh's Heritage Nursery, Garfield Community Farm, Bible Center's Oasis Project, the Sankofa Village site of the Black Urban Gardeners and Farmers of Pittsburgh Coop (BUGS), and Grow Pittsburgh's Shiloh Farm.
