Want to support the future of CampBioE 2.0?
Today is Pitt Day of Giving, and we are raising support for two key initiatives: CampBioE 2.0 and the Center for Medical Innovation (CMI). 💡
Last year, our community came together and raised more than $5,000, helping us offer CampBioE 2.0 free of charge to scholars in need.
This year, gifts will continue to expand access to STEM+ education, provide fee waivers to scholars, and help us expand our 3D bioprinting programming. Consider making a gift today and directly supporting our CampBioE 2.0 scholars!

CampBioE 2.0 scholars don't just hear about bioengineering breakthroughs — they create them with their own two hands.
This summer, the camp's high school scholars learned how to transform an everyday 3D printer into a bioprinter, designing complex tissue scaffolds from hydrogels. Younger campers explored magnetic ferrofluids, built brain models, and simulated dialysis with kidney tubing. ⚙️🔎
Led by Bioengineering Assistant Professors Katrina Knight and Daniel Shiwarski, CampBioE 2.0 acts as a STEM+ pipeline for curiosity, confidence, and lifelong learning. Read more below about the camp's 2025 expansion!
