Highlighting our DOULAS! Meet Becca Rowland….

For over 20 years, I have been passionate about caring for young children and their families in a variety of ways. I have been a full time nanny, a children’s and infant room ministry director, a therapeutic support staff for children with autism, a camp counselor, an afterschool director, and a kindergarten teacher. My education includes a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, with a focus in Childhood Development.
I also am a mom of three children, ages 5, 7, and 10. I was a stay at home mom with all of my children while they were young. While I was staying home with my children, I worked as a nanny, taking care of both infants and toddlers within my own home. During this time, I fell in love with caring for babies and being able to serve and support new parents through such a vulnerable and exciting stage of their life, which is why I became a postpartum doula!
I understand and empathize with the physical and emotional struggles and joys that come with having a new baby. To be able to provide parents with compassionate support, knowledge, and the physical rest that they need during this time, is a very humbling and fulfilling job for me. It fills my heart with joy to care for little ones and to give both a baby, and their parents, the unconditional love, gentleness, care, and attention that the entire family needs during such a big transition in their lives.
I am up to date on my CPR certification and my PA clearances. I have completed training with a certified Lactation Consultant and I am enrolled in the postpartum doula certification course with Maternity Wise. I am continuously furthering my education with infant and postpartum care so that I can continue to grow in my ability to support the families I work with.

That is great news!

DID YOU KNOW...??

At The Midwife Center, new families typically leave the birth center between 4-12 hours after giving birth! Our nurses and midwives are excellent at preparing birthing clients and their support people ahead of time so that they are ready and able to return to the comfort of their own homes with their new little bundle of joy.
