Yoga is an amazing complement to running, and can make you a more efficient, faster, and stronger athlete—in addition to helping prevent injuries. By taking a time-out from competition to direct attention to your breathing and body, yoga can help with stress relief, as well as give you a better awareness of how your body is responding to practices, workouts, and competition. Day 1 of our 5-Day Run Ready Yoga Challenge is live! Try this one in just 10 minutes when you come back from your run! Here’s a little preview of today’s practice!
Today’s theme is “Hips/IT Band”; my own IT band woes were what really got me into yoga back in the day so it was only fitting that we kicked off the challenge with this theme!!!
This challenge is the perfect time to join our community and get stronger and stay injury free for summer mileage—and Runners Love Yoga TV has a 10 day free trial too! Get mobile now at runnersloveyoga.tv (link in bio)!

The 5-Day Run Ready Yoga Challenge starts tomorrow at runnersloveyoga.tv! Here’s a preview of all 5 days! Each practice is just over 10 min. so these are easier to do no matter what else you’ve got going on during the day; try them when you are done with a run!
This was a lot of fun to film for you, especially because I had so many helpers! 🤣🐈⬛ (Gio’s favorite day was definitely “Hamstrings/Calves”! I think Little Nuggie sat in the cat couch for every single video too!)
Link in bio to get going and join our challenge!! Runners Love Yoga TV also has an iOS and Android app so you can do the challenge on the go too!
New yoga challenge coming next week to Runners Love Yoga TV from Monday June 1 to Friday June 5!
The 5-Day Run Ready Yoga Series features a 10 min. practice each day with a different runner focused theme and is designed to get you mobile, moving, and stronger for those summer miles. Whether you’re in recovery mode from a spring marathon or looking ahead to summer miles, that 4th of July 5k, or Chicago or New York or the fall racing season at large, now is a great time to add in a little yoga to keep yourself injury free and ready to roll! 🏃🏽♀️💨
As you can see, I had a lot of help filming today from Gio and Boo Boo who will be making some guest appearances! 😂
Find 300+ yoga practices with me already live at runnersloveyoga.tv (link in bio! There’s also an iOS and an android app!)!
Here’s my number one go-to hamstring stretch! Save and try this one after your next run! This one is also easy to do without a mat when you are in your running shoes wherever you end up postrun!
We do this move in Flow #221: Leg and Core Strength on Runners Love Yoga TV if you want to try this within a full class with me. You can also find 300+ full yoga classes, most in the 10-30 min. range (easy to do alongside your running!!) at runnersloveyoga.tv too! Link in bio!
Here’s 3 easy ways to help gently loosen up tight calves to save & try after your next run!
Both Gio and Koozie were helping observe from the window here. 🐈⬛🐈⬛ (Gio is pretty funny with his paw tapping the window there!! 😆)
Find 300+ full yoga classes with me at runnersloveyoga.tv (link in bio). Most are 10-30 min. so they’re easier to do postrun too!

I always say running is infinitely more fun with friends (I will take 12 miles with a friend over 2 miles solo any day!), and really where do you feel the community of running more than at a race?
Here’s all of my races from March onward this year—my times weren’t too shabby for how much I’ve been running (if I don’t have company, I just don’t run 😂), but what really stands out in looking back at these is just how special races are as a way to bring people together—to cheer for a friend you see a lot or maybe you haven’t seen in a while, to get to return to your hometown and see your family, to get a quick weekend away in a nearby town with your husband, to support meaningful local causes with those in your local community.
Cheers to more runs with friends, and more fast & fun racing this summer!!
Try this one after your next run: this 3-part IT band stretch has been a go-to for me for forever, and it’s super easy to do in your running shoes wherever you end up post-run. (Yoga that’s easy to add to your life = yoga that you will actually do.)
Find a whole category of 10-30 min. hips/IT band focused yoga at runnersloveyoga.tv (link in bio). My own IT band woes back in college are how I got my whole start in yoga; if your own IT band is giving you problems right now, hang in there! It can and will get better!! What stretches do you want help with next?!
