Last week, Samantha Young visited the University of Pittsburgh School of Pharmacy to sit down with Dr. Lisa Cencia Rohan, professor of pharmaceutical sciences and a nationally recognized researcher whose work focuses on transforming women’s health and global health through pharmaceutical innovation.
Throughout her career, Dr. Rohan and her team have developed more than 50 pharmaceutical products, helping move groundbreaking discoveries from the lab to the clinic.

Dr. Jim C***s presented his research at the American College of Cardiology (ACC) Annual Meeting in New Orleans, LA, earlier this spring.✨
His research, “ABCD-GENE Score and Bleeding in Post-PCI Patients: Implications for Guided De-escalation of Antiplatelet Therapy” was accepted as a moderated poster and published abstract.
In addition, Dr. C***s was an invited co-chair for an abstract session “Highlighted Original Research: Pulmonary Vascular Disease” and a panelist for a case-based session “Right Heart, Real Decisions – Case-Based Approaches to Managing Complexity in Pulmonary Hypertension.”
Finally, C***s completed his tenure as a member of the ACC’s Simulation Work Group after serving as a facilitator for the Personalized Skills Zone (Cardiac Arrest and Pulmonary Embolism Escape Room). H2P!🎉

Stephanie McGrath, PharmD (PHARM ‘07, Residency alum ‘08) presented an award-winning poster at the Pharmacy Quality Alliance (PQA) Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD this spring titled: Improving Medication Adherence in the Medicaid Population Through Community Pharmacist-Provided Services.✨

A season of impact for Dr. Raman Venkataramanan! 👏
At the UCSF School of Pharmacy this spring, Dr. Venkataramanan shared his expertise on transplant pharmacology through a lecture titled, “Pharmacological Approach to Minimize Ischemia Reperfusion Injury of Liver Grafts,” and spent time with graduate students in San Francisco.
Back in Pittsburgh, his dedication to student success was recognized with the Stanford I. Cohen Teacher of the Year Award at commencement. Congrats, Dr. Venkataramanan!🎉

The School of Pharmacy hosted its 3rd Annual Schoolwide Teaching Retreat on Wednesday, May 27.
The theme of the retreat was “Leveraging Our Strengths.” Pictured are Dr. Pamela Smithburger and Dr. Amanda Korenoski, PharmD, MHA, BCCCP demonstrating AR/VR instructional technology with the help of Larry Kobulinsky.
Over 70 faculty, staff, TAs, and students were in attendance to showcase and grow Pitt Pharmacy as the preeminent leader in pharmacy, pharmaceutical sciences and interprofessional teaching, learning, and assessment.
