A closer look at the sawmill demo with our Carpentry crew!
This experience gave students a chance to see one piece of the process behind the materials they work with every day: moving the logs, lining things up, securing the material, making the first cuts, and watching raw wood start to take shape.
It was an incredibly cool opportunity to connect the materials they use in the lab with some of the work, equipment, and planning it takes to get those materials ready for a project.
Big shoutout to friend of the Carpentry crew, on YouTube, for letting us use his sawmill and helping make this demo possible for our students!

This place was absolutely booming today with employers, students, alumni, conversations, handshakes, business cards, and a whole lot of opportunity 😎
That’s what makes Career Fair day so good.
It’s not just about walking around and grabbing a free pen. It’s about having real conversations with employers, asking real questions, hearing real advice, and seeing how many directions a career in the trades can actually take you.
And right now, we all know trades are needed. Badly.
With more than 150 employers on campus, today was a clear reminder that skilled trades careers are full of opportunity, and our students and alumni are stepping into industries that help keep everything around us running.
Thank you to every employer who spent the day with us, and a special thank you to our premier sponsors: #1 Cochran, Kenworth of PA, Conrads, Hunter Truck, ECI, and Rohrich; and our sponsored employers: Johnson Controls, Ellwood Group, Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, and Germain.

Thanks to grant funding from PPG, we welcomed students from Parkway West CTC to our campus for a hands-on collision repair workshop. They spent time learning from our instructors and current students while practicing paint, airbrushing, and other collision repair techniques.
It was a solid chance for students to get a closer look at the creative, technical side of the industry and see what training in collision repair can actually look like.
Big thanks to PPG for helping support opportunities like this, and shoutout to the Parkway West crew for showing up ready to learn!

One less barrier between a student and the future they’re working toward!
A’Rondae Morris, a Nazareth Prep graduate, plans to attend Rosedale Tech to pursue automotive technology this fall. Through the generosity of the John & Loriann Putzier Family Foundation, he received scholarship support to help make that path more possible.
With his family, supporters, and people who believe in where he’s headed standing beside him, A’Rondae got to take this next step knowing he has real support behind him.
Congratulations, A’Rondae. We’re proud to be part of what comes next!

Getting to show up with news like this never gets old!
Brittany Tomina and Thomas Locke were both recently surprised with #1 Cochran TechEx Scholarships to help support their education at Rosedale Technical College. Brittany, a senior at South Park High School, received the Breaking Barriers Scholarship, and Thomas, a senior at Burrell High School, received the Tech Excellence Scholarship.
For students who already know they want to work in automotive or collision repair, this kind of support matters. It takes a little pressure off, makes the next step feel more real, and reminds them that people in the industry are already rooting for them.
Big thank you as always to #1 Cochran for continuing to create these opportunities through the TechEx partnership. More scholarship surprises are still to come!

This is the kind of stuff we love to see!
A few years ago, our HVAC crew started helping out at Camp Kon-O-Kwee through a connection with our friends, JA Sauer, Co Heating & Air Conditioning. They were donating their time, working on HVAC maintenance, and helping keep things running behind the scenes.
What started as one opportunity has grown into an ongoing effort. Our students now make regular trips out to camp, with Carpentry recently working on stairs, railings, decking, and repairs, and Electrical helping with lighting and other maintenance projects. HVAC will be back out there again soon, continuing the work they helped start.
It’s hands-on experience, but it’s also bigger than that. The trades have a real way of showing up for people and places that need them.
Proud of our students and instructors for putting their skills to work in a way that actually makes a difference!

Today’s GPADA Career Fair brought dealership reps right to campus, giving our Automotive, Collision Repair, and Diesel students a chance to have real conversations about the opportunities available to them.
From asking questions to making connections, students got to spend the morning face-to-face with people from the industry they’re working toward. Not a bad warm-up for our program-wide Career Fair coming up next Thursday, May 21 👀
Big thanks to GPADA and all of the participating dealerships for spending the morning with our wheel-turners!
