FEBRUARY

TOURNAMENT TRAINING MONTH

In preparation for our annual tournament, we will focus on patterns, sparring, and weapons in the Friday 7pm class. This class is open to all students who wish to compete at the tournament. FRIDAYS 6th, 13th, & 20th

MEMBERS DRIVE

We sincerely ask for your support in reaching out to friends and family in an effort to grow our Dojang. If we are able to meet our sign-up goal by the end of February, we will be able to expand the training floor and build a more comfortable lobby area. It is our personal goal to have a facility where the comfort is only matched by the training intensity! Help make Zang TKD in Greentree the finest Dojang anywhere!

HOODIE PRE-ORDER

We have begun pre-orders for hoodies with the new Zang TKD back logo (designed by Master Bocz). They will also feature the embroidered signature Double Dragon patch of the Greentree Dojang on the front chest. Youth sizes are $50, Adult sizes are $55, 2XL+ sizes are $60. Dynamic Kicks and Acrobatics

Our Friday Special classes will focus on high-level kicking and acrobatic movement for demonstrations and breaking! Pair these classes with our 6pm Capoeira Class to get the most out of your training! March 6th, 13th, 20th, & 27th

Black Belt Students wishing to earn their Assistant Instructor (Cho-Kyo-Nim) Patch may attend this 4-part series.

Part 1: Leading an Effective Warm-Up

Part 2: Working with Small Groups and Working with Large Groups

Part 3: Helping with Testings and Tournaments

Part 4: Review and Test

Students who complete all 4 parts will test on what they have learned and lead a part of a class to officially earn their patch.

10/18: OKINAWAN KARATE SEMINAR (Blairsville, PA) - Featuring 2 Grandmasters. The first seminar will cover Kobudo (Traditional Okinawan Weapons) TONFA. The second seminar will cover self-defense techniques including joint manipulation and vital point striking. Ages 18+ $80

10/31: HALLOWEEN! No Classes. Most local trick or treat times overlap with class our times. Go get candy!

11/7: NATIONAL KOREAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 1 (Seven Springs Resort) - The first day will feature a sparring seminar with Grandmaster Zang, Board Breaking Competition and Team Fighting Competition

11/8: NATIONAL KOREAN KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP DAY 2 (Seven Springs Resort) - The main portion of the competition! Weapons, Forms, and Sparring for all ranks and ages! This is a great tournament for beginners and blackbelts! Everyone should attend if possible!

11/15: GAME NIGHT! (Greentree Dojang) - Bring your favorite board games! We will also be continuing our Dungeons & Dragons campaign! Don’t worry if you don’t know how to play, we will teach you! Bring $10 for Pop, Pizza, and Snacks! 7pm-10pm

11/22: MASTER MORNINGSTAR TECHNICAL SEMINAR (Pittsburgh, PA) - This will be a great opportunity to sharpen your skills and gain a deeper understanding of the patterns. This event will be the same day as our End of the Year Banquet. Pricing information will be coming soon!

11/22: END OF THE YEAR BANQUET (Pittsburgh, PA): After the Seminar, join us for a special dinner featuring delicious food prepared by Master Iskandarov! There will also be live music performed by Dojang 2. This is a great opportunity for both Dojangs to get together and celebrate all the hard work and success we’ve had this year. There will be a discount price if you also attended the seminar.

11/27-11/29: NO CLASSES - The Greentree Dojang will be closed for Thanksgiving weekend! See you again Monday December 1st

Hey everyone! Here are the current calendars for the rest of September and October. We have several events coming up including the Blairsville Tournament, the National Korean Karate Championships at Seven Springs, and Color Belt testing.
Please bring your registrations for tournaments and testing as soon as possible so we can have everything in place for competition day and order new belts!

September 11th - Adult Color Belt Testing 7pm

September 12th - ZangTKD Jerseys!We will have a new batch of
black and white jerseys in kid and adult sizes! They'll be $35 each.

September 13th - Blairsville Tournament Registration is due

September 20th - Blairsville Martial Arts Championship

September 27th - Crafton Fall Fest
We will have a booth at the park! We'd like to have an outdoor class and demonstration at our booth. We are still figuring out the exact time and should know by the weekend!

October 1st - COLOR BELT TESTING APPLICATIONS DUE

October 3rd - Friday Fight Night 6pm - 8pm
We will once again be hosting Friday Fight Night. Bring your sparring gear and get some rounds in with neighboring martial artists. This is a free, friendly open sparring event for kids and adults.

October 4th Chito-Kai Fall Seminar (Warrendale, PA)
This is a whole day of seminars for advanced adult students. The event is $60 and will cover a variety of topics related to traditional Okinawan Karate.

October 10th - Special Guest Instructor

6:00pm - 7:00pm: Advanced and Black Belts
No Regular Classes

October 11th - COLOR BELT TESTING
10:00am : White belts and Yellow Stripes
