⭐ Superintendent’s Challenge Coin⭐

Today, we are proud to recognize Diamond Davis with the Superintendent’s Challenge Coin for her extraordinary compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to serving children and families in Pittsburgh Public Schools.

As an Early Head Start Family Services Specialist, Diamond exemplifies what it means to put students and families first — always, in all ways. Her work extends far beyond the expectations of her role, reflecting a deep sense of care, empathy, and responsibility for the families she serves.

During a recent power outage that impacted members of the community, Diamond immediately stepped forward to support families in need. She personally purchased and delivered cold milk to families, offered to help coordinate warm meals, connected families to critical social service resources, and provided guidance on SNAP benefits, safety information, and additional community supports.

In a moment of uncertainty and hardship, Diamond became a source of stability, comfort, and hope.

This recognition is also especially meaningful because Diamond is a former student of Superintendent Dr. Wayne N. Walters — a full-circle reminder of the lasting impact educators can have on the lives of their students, and the powerful ways those students go on to serve their own communities.

Diamond’s compassion and dedication are not limited to moments of crisis. They are a reflection of who she is every day. She consistently builds meaningful relationships with families, individualizes support based on their needs, and ensures families feel seen, valued, and cared for.

Diamond Davis, thank you for your selfless service, your heart for families, and your unwavering commitment to the PPS community. Congratulations on receiving the Superintendent’s Challenge Coin!
