EXPlore Youth Day is coming to Sarah Heinz House on Friday, September 11th, a free, hands-on day of tech exploration for middle school students.

Students will rotate through activation stations led by real professionals in robotics, AI, coding, and more, giving them direct exposure to careers and technology shaping our region's future. Lunch is provided, and registration is free for all schools and students.

Repairs to the air conditioning system at Pittsburgh Minadeo have been completed, allowing students and staff to safely return to the building. Students will return to in-person teaching and learning Thursday, September 3, 2026.

🚨 IMPORTANT EXTREME HEAT UPDATE 🚨

Pittsburgh Faison has been removed from the list of schools shifting to synchronous remote learning.

Pittsburgh Faison will resume in-person learning tomorrow, Wednesday, September 2.

The schools listed on the graphic will remain on synchronous remote learning through Thursday, September 3, 2026.

Pittsburgh Classical 6-8 Air Conditioning Restored

Repairs to the air conditioning system at Pittsburgh Classical 6-8 have been completed, allowing students and staff to safely return to the building. Students will return to in-person teaching and learning Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Pittsburgh Minadeo Air Conditioning Issues

Issues with the chillers at Pittsburgh Minadeo are impacting the school’s air conditioning system. As a result, Pittsburgh Minadeo will transition to synchronous remote teaching and learning Wednesday, September 2, 2026.

Seven recreation centers will open early Tuesday, September 1 through Thursday, September 3 to support students participating in synchronous remote learning.

⏰ Doors open at 8:00 AM
💻 Bring your device and/or schoolwork packets
🍎 Snacks will be provided
🏀 Regular afternoon programming will continue as scheduled

Arlington, Ormsby & Warrington Rec Centers will maintain their regular operating hours and programming.

Families must drop off students in person to complete required emergency contact information and drop-off/pick-up instructions.
