The PTO is composed of the parents of all students currently attending Ingomar Elementary School, with four parents serving annually as elected officers. The PTO provides volunteers and funding for programs that enhance the educational opportunities offered to our children that are not otherwise funded by the school district. Through a combination of the student activity fee and fundraising, the P
TO pays for student assemblies, one to two class field trips for each grade (including fees and transportation), playground and building supplies, three classroom parties per year, staff appreciation, supplementary staff supplies, and much more. The PTO works with the staff and administration to implement these programs and respond to the continually changing needs of the school. The PTO’s activities are made possible by the generous giving of time by Ingomar parent volunteers. Parent volunteers are just that. . .parents volunteering their time, skill and talent to provide help to staff and enrich the children’s educational experience. Parent volunteers can help in many areas, including: in the classroom, with special building projects, in the library, with fundraising, field day, Traveling Art Gallery (“TAG”), and after school programs. A list and description of the many volunteer opportunities can be found on this website. Whether you have only one hour to volunteer during the entire school year or weekly availability, your volunteer time is greatly appreciated. If you would like to get involved, you may sign up for committees on our google docs page. Contact [email protected] for the URL. If you have any questions regarding a particular committee, please contact the committee chairperson or a PTO officer. We will be happy to help you find an opportunity that meets your interests and time constraints. Our meetings are usually held the first week of every month in the library. They vary between evening or morning meetings. Check your weekly PTO email or this site for reminders. Please consider joining us if you are able. If there is a topic or issue you would like to have addressed at any PTO meeting, please contact one of the PTO officers and we will make sure that it is placed on the agenda. We welcome all community suggestions and input! Your involvement with the PTO is a great way to become a part of the school community, make friends and make a difference for your children.
