Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! Spotlighting my friend and colleague, Margie Santmyer-Raimondo from Yough School District. We worked together at Yough MS for six years. Great memories!

Good evening dear family, friends, new found friends, former students and their families, current student families, my church community at COR, and my school community at Hempfield….Thank you!❤️🙏

For the last 6 weeks you have opened my FB page, Messenger, Text Messages, Emails, Instagram, and all the various groups I have joined to promote this contest. Thank you for all of your kind words and messages, for sharing, and for voting daily with either a free vote or 2 votes. Many of you made very generous contributions through a donation vote. Know that your donation vote not only helped me to stay on this journey for 6 weeks where I connected with all of you, but that you also helped to support the nonprofit organization Teach For America.

Although the 2nd Place winners of each group have an opportunity to compete in a Speed Round the next three days in order to join the finalist on May 6, I will not continue. I learned tonight that donation votes can be donated all day if someone chooses. It’s only the free votes that are every 24hrs. I did not know that until this evening.

I am abundantly grateful for this journey of 6 weeks. I have experienced such kindness and caring. So many, including strangers that I have never met supporting me with their vote and sharing. Wow! That spoke volumes to me.

This journey has also inspired me to continue promoting what we as teachers do in education and turn my Talk Show idea that I pitched to the Oprah Winfrey Show almost 18 years ago in Atlanta, GA into a podcast. Plus, I have written my Memoir which is in the editing phase at the moment, so stay tuned.

Finally, on Tuesday, I reached out to local businesses for sponsorship with a donation vote. Thank you to Conforti’s Pizzeria in Irwin, Dahar Orthodontics in Irwin, and Webb’s Service Center, Inc. in Greensburg for your generous donation and supporting what we do as teachers.

Today, I received another generous donation vote from Lavish Salon and Spa in Greensburg. Thank you for supporting my efforts to win this contest, and the work we do as teachers.

Above all, I give thanks to God for this journey. It all happened for a reason, and I know that His goodness and grace will continue to follow me all the days of my life. ❤️🙏

It was a beautiful day! Hope the same for all of you! Wherever this message finds you, please know that I am abundantly grateful for all of the support you have shown me since this contest started on March 25. No matter the outcome, the journey has been a blessing, and I know in my heart it’s just the beginning of something greater that lies ahead. In order to get into the quarterfinals on Thursday, I will need to be in 1st. Although the runner-up will compete in a short speed round.
