Curious about how live events look so amazing? Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes with all that cool lighting gear? Whether you’re a complete beginner or just want to try something new, this training is for YOU! No experience is needed—just bring your curiosity!

The Fall23 Homecoming Concert has come to an end. It was an amazing experience working with the crew from and !

Everyone on AB Tech runcrew did a wonderful job in the past two months to make this concert possible! And again, we greatly appreciate all of you who came to help with set-up and strike. WOW Concert schedule is out! As general labor, you will be helping with pushing equipment near Wiegand Gym as well as the set-up and tear-down. Feel free to stop by during the listed times. BUT no one should stay for all of load-in!

👻 Lighting training weekend! 👻
This weekend, AB Tech will be holding 2 lighting trainings on specific upcoming lighting events.
- On Saturday, the Concert plot training, led by Fletcher, will go over how concert lighting is designed and implemented.
- On Sunday, Chloe and Maggie will be introducing lighting techniques for dance shows and exemplify with two of our main events at the end of the semester - KPDC and DS showcases.
These two trainings will provide many more detailed examples from our own experiences and are great places to start if you're interested in concert or dance show lighting!

It's one month into the semester -- check out some recaps from Orientation tech!
Orientation is one of AB Tech's largest events, lasting over several months in the summer. We set up our equipment in the Orientation tent and around the Cut, and supported various other O-week events in the UC and around campus. As a student org, we also hold our own Orientation events - this year, we enjoyed fence painting🎨 and Sound and Light Studio🌟. Congratulations to all our Tech runcrew for a month well done🥰

Come to AB Tech’s first lighting training of the semester, led by our very own Chloe, Maggie, and Clarise! We’ll be providing a general overview of the types of lights we own, how we choose lights for events, and important accessories to know about during load-in. The training will also have a practical component for hands-on experience! This training is perfect for beginners, as we assume no prior exposure to anything related to lights.

WOW! FUNdamentals training - our very first training of the school year - will be happening this Sunday (9/17) at 3 PM! 💫
Come to the Danforth Conference Room at the UC and learn all the basics of AB Tech! We'll have stations for sound, lighting, and general techniques that we frequently use including counter-coiling and identifying cables 👀
