Pitt's Urban Garden: Plant to Plate

We are so excited to announce that we were finally approved by SORC to have volunteers in the garden! We will be having volunteers on Wednesday, November 4th from 5:30-6:30pm, and Sunday November 8th from 4:00pm-5:00pm! This week we will be clearing out this season's crops, turning compost, and tilling beds for the next season! We will not be providing garden gloves so either bring your own or be prepared to get your hands dirty! We also require masks be worn at all times in the garden! Due to COVID, we will only be allowing 12 people at a time in the garden, including board members, so sign up fast to secure your spot! Our address is 246 Oakland Ave, Pittsburgh, PA, 15213!

For our final summer harvest, we brought in 16.30lbs of broccoli, cherry tomatoes, tomatoes, kale, curly kale, cucumber, and squash from the garden!! We partnered with 412 Food Rescue to donate the produce, plus apples we picked from one of our board member’s apple tree! Yes, the apples are edible and not crab apples! We donated another 2-3 pounds of apples from their apple tree as well!
