They say you can always go home again. We certainly enjoy going “home” each Spring when we visit Mt. Assisi Place personal care home in Ross. Today, we delivered gifts from our preschool families to each Resident and caught up with some of our long-time friends. Our preschool got its start back more than 40 years ago as Mount Assisi Academy Preschool. As the building was being sold by the School Sisters of St. Francis in 2018, we moved to McKnight United Methodist Church, where we've found a whole new family of friends. But it’s always a joy to bring a smile to the faces of these special folks, including Sister Barbara Ann Webster, who started our preschool in a single classroom in 1980, and Sister Eve Blostic, who taught religion with us for more than 30 years. All of the residents were deeply grateful for the generosity of our preschoolers and their families. Because of our ongoing relationship, we are welcomed back each December to stage our 'Holiday Spirit Spectacular' in the Mt. Assisi auditorium.

It's pretty darn cold out there! Therefore, Amazing Scholar Academy Preschool will be closed for one more day -- Friday, January 30. We anticipate returning to our normal schedule starting Monday, February 2. However, we WILL host our Open House for new and prospective students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Sunday, February 1.

Amazing Scholar Academy Preschool Our preschool program in Ross Township creates a warm, loving and caring atmosphere in which each child is given the opportunity to experience social, physical and academic growth. Children graduate from our program with all the tools to help them succeed in kindergarten and beyond.

We had a fur-tastic fall day yesterday when our friend, Clancy the Mini Goldendoodle, stopped by for an afternoon visit. Clancy is a certified therapy dog who often visits local universities and other organizations to bring comfort in stressful situations. After Clancy taught us all about safe ways to approach dogs, his mom, Bridget, shared a story. In return for all the loving pats he got, Clancy gave each of our preschoolers one of his special baseball cards. And because it was Orange Day at ASAP, Clancy came dressed in his brightly-colored 'pupkin' outfit. Overall, we give the day two paws up!

It's almost here! Preschool is about to begin for the 2025-2026 school year. Here are some important dates to remember:
