to the spring semester when Chatham Student Government organized a campus-wide engagement project connecting students to Chatham history through materials in the University Archives! We’re getting excited for fall and lots of projects like this in the years to come!

Wayback in 1952, Chatham Alums organized a fair on the lawn outside Mellon Hall, featuring booths with flowers, cookies, and assorted wares. The event included balloon trees and watersports and, from the looks of it, they enjoyed lovely weather!

Did you know there was once a swan living in the Mellon Pond? Wayback in the 1940s, when Mellon was donated to Chatham, the resident seen was enjoyed by campus visitors. Who loves postcards? We do! Especially historical ones, like those in the Chatham Campus Postcard Collection (see more in the Link below). This one is a favorite because it shows that brief moment when the Chapel had just been built, but Old Dilworth had not yet been replaced by Braun Hall. Look how little those trees are!

It looks like the January 1992 Chatham Abroad trip to the Galápagos Islands was amazing! The trip included encounters with giant tortoise, snorkeling with penguins, and hiking over lava! Wow!

to 2003 and the Chatham Abroad trip to France! The group traveled to Paris, where they saw the Eiffel Tower, and to the Loire Valley where they saw the Château de Chaumont, and some lovely spot where a baguette was acquired! Sounds like an amazing trip!

The Chatham Abroad program took students to Peru in 1999, where they explored Machu Picchu, the Cuzco Region, and spent some time at the beach!

January 1995 saw a group of Chatham students heading to Italy for an interim Chatham Abroad! The group visited Florence, Rome, Venice, Padua, Siena, and Assisi before hoping over to London for a few days study in then-new Renaissance Wing of the National Gallery. What fun!
