Sometimes, it’s okay to say, “Not today.” 🤗

We often think we have to push through…Finish the task, have the difficult conversation, break the habit, or simply keep going.

But sometimes, recognizing that you’ve reached your limit is an important form of self-awareness.

It doesn’t mean avoiding what needs to be done or continually putting things of. It means recognizing when you need to pause and give yourself permission to revisit it tomorrow.

This can also be a helpful strategy when working to change a habit. Telling yourself you’ll never do something again can feel overwhelming. But saying, “I’m not doing that today,” gives your mind a more manageable and attainable commitment.

The goal isn’t to use “not today” to avoid life or make excuses; it’s to use it wisely, when you genuinely need a pause. 💡😊

🍎 Well, this was pretty exciting…

We’re thrilled to share that Apple purchased some of our EQ Wize courses!

After more than a year of hard work bringing EQ Wize to life, seeing that sale come through was such a rewarding moment.

And here is why…

Apple is testing our new EQ Wize app! 🎉

Our vision for EQ Wize has always been to make the skills that help us communicate, build confidence, navigate relationships, manage our emotions, think critically, and succeed both personally and professionally accessible & affordable to everyone.

Our three online courses - Emotional Intelligence, Business Etiquette, and Critical Thinking - take the knowledge and experience Coach Monique has gained through more than 20 years of coaching and turn it into practical, user-friendly learning that you can complete in 60–90 minutes. 🧠✨

And we’re just getting started.

The new EQ Wize app will be available on the App Store and Google Play in just a few days!

Is staying busy keeping you from facing what truly matters?

Many people, myself included at times, self-identify with how busy and productive they are, and even subconsciously wear the “busy badge of honor.”

Being booked and busy can make us feel important, irreplaceable, and sometimes, it can simply keep us running from the things we don’t want to face.

If we’re always working, there isn’t much time to be alone with our thoughts. If we’re always busy, it becomes an excuse for not sitting in silence and facing the uncomfortable parts of ourselves and our lives.

In a way, it can become a form of escapism… running from the very things we need to face.

Ask yourself:

Is it possible that I’m using being busy as an escape?
Does being busy make me feel more important?

The sooner you address that, the sooner you may find that your life begins to improve.

Sometimes, slowing down is where the real work begins. 💜

Making new friends as an adult can feel surprisingly difficult.

As kids, friendships often happened simply because we were around the same people every day.

As adults? We often have to be a little more intentional.

So if you’re looking to make new friends, try this:

✨ Find people who share similar interests and join groups where you can meet them.
✨ Go places where connection can happen naturally. Rather than walking on your treadmill, walk on a public trail.
✨ Put yourself out there and don’t be afraid to make the first move.

It may feel uncomfortable at first. Do it anyway. You might be surprised who you meet!

When things change inside you, things change around you. As within, so without. 🌀

Your reticular activating system is constantly scanning your surroundings and filtering the world through your perception. That’s why it’s so important to be mindful and intentional about your inner state.

What you focus on shapes what you notice, and ultimately, how you experience the world around you.

Are they really sorry… or do they just want to move on?

There’s a difference between saying “I’m sorry” to end a conflict and saying it because you genuinely recognize that your behavior caused harm.

A real apology isn’t just about the words; it’s about how a person decides to behave moving forward.

If the behavior never changes, the apology was probably about ending the discomfort, not taking accountability.

Before you accept an apology, or offer one yourself, ask:

Do I mean it, or do I just want this conflict to be over?

How much of your life are you unintentionally giving away? ⏳

Take a look at where your time is actually going.

Open your screen time settings. You might be surprised by how many hours are quietly disappearing into things that don’t add value to your life.

Being intentional with your time doesn’t mean you should be productive every minute, but it does mean making sure your time reflects what matters most to you. The truth is – the way you spend your time is the way you spend your life.

💬 If you could reclaim just one extra hour every day, what would you do with it?

Signs you may have a negativity bias:

😕 You have a problem for every solution
😕 You tend to be judgemental
😕 You argue with reality and dwell on the past

Negativity bias drains our energy and makes life 10x harder.

The good news? You can change it. With awareness and intentional practice, you can begin to notice negative thought patterns and choose a different response.

And if someone else in your life has a negativity bias, remember: their behavior is not within your control. What is within your control is how you respond, the boundaries you set, and the energy you choose to give their negativity.

Awareness is the first step toward meaningful change. 👁️💜

Are you always swooping in to fix it?

If so, you may be enabling. Here’s the first thing I recommend doing if you want to interrupt this pattern and create a healthier relationship.
